Title: Towny Modifications

So who would like to see new ranks for towny? If you would like to see new ranks post a comment with suggestions for the names of the ranks and what kinds of permissions/powers they would have in the town.

CoOwner  - should have most of perms as owner  besides the delete town ect but should have full control over plots /money

Recruiter - allows to send invites?

I think there needs to be a LANDLORD who can handle plots, expand the town, etc.

Artist: The artist makes the town look pretty by adding pixel art, decorations, and occasionally helps build. Could be a really fun rank to be moved up to in a town.

i Would like Co-Mayor as town rank , to have all perms as mayor. ( since we are 3 irl friends in town ,all of us would like to have mayor but assistent rank is limited )

What I would like to see is configurable ranks, every mayor can make his own ranks with unique perms. That would be much more effective. :)

maybe Guard or something? Someone who protects town residents, guards them when they leave town or something.
I don't think that rank should be builder, it should be something creative..
Maybe Helper and he gets permissions to build anywhere in town.

Sujested ranks so far:

--> Guard- Protects residents
--> Economist/banker - Handles town money
--> Co owner/co mayor - All mayor perms other than delete town
--> Recruiter - Send invite
--> Landlord - Handle plot
--> Artist - Improve town looksHey
--> Builder - Build public places

Keep those ideas flowing guys!

Maby have Co owner/Co mayor have the rank system as Mayor does in the town?

Its not fun if you don't have any ranks like that, only economy ranks.
Guard can protect from mobs/escort people, arrest people in town, well if someone decides to make a roleplay town ( im planning something like that but not a complete roleplay.. ) Would be cool to have, Guard and captain or something.

Duke - town mayor
Count - assistants
Treasurer - town money
Artisan - Decorates town
Architect - Builds
Surveyor - Handles town plots
Citizen - resident
Noble - VIP

These are the ranks for the towns in a medieval theme.

I got another suggestion, I don't know about a Roleplay name but it should be something like a "Proven member", who has helped the town grow and is active. Perhaps some kind of Noble, lol.. By the way, where'd the "Guard" rank go? What about "Knight"?  :D

In my opinion that rank is also useless... if you want to distinguish someone, just set them as Vip/Noble

I thought I seen something elsewhere about ranks. But I can't seem to find it. So... I will post here.
Rank: Ambassador
Duties: To establish and help build Embassies and conduct business with other towns when Mayor or assistants are not available.

This would basically be like a VIP with a title to be known as to who they are. Like currently, I don't allow embassy plots in Paradoxia unless it is to a mayor of a town. Now, if we had this rank I would allow for the ambassador of another town to have an embassy plot. I know that not all towns do this with embassy plots, but I still think it would be cool to have an ambassador rank.

Glad to hear you say that Migas, cuz I got a good one here.
 I have noticed that there are very little that other ranks besides assistant can do, so I am going to offer up a list. Here goes.

Co-mayor: Can do everything a mayor can except for deleting the town.
Assistant: Co-mayor with exceptions. Can NOT add or remove ranks, withdraw money from town, or kick residents.
Builder: Can claim land for town, build and destroy on town owned land.
Recruiter: Can invite people to town and set plots for sale.
Vip: As it is now, just a tax free fancy title. lol

I think these ranks or at least the ability to have each of these rank perms will better fulfill the needs of large and growing towns. The titles could be fancied up or whatever. But that's the jest of it.

Economist really wouldn't be of much need, as these things are usually set by the mayor and are simple commands that rarely get used. I think the most important of ranks would be recruiter and builder. The recruiter rank would be very beneficial and keep from having to have mayors and town assistants take off from what they are doing just to place a plot for sale. I know not every town does things as I do, but it is better to be able to place the plots for sale as they are needed instead of having them all for sale at once. In my case, I give every resident a free plot, if I set them all for sale at no cost, someone will come along and start claiming a lot of plots. With recruiter rank I could give multiple residents this rank to help boost the town without giving them build and destroy permissions. As it stands all the other ranks I have listed can be replaced with assistant, although it would be nice to have additional ranks. But I feel that for any growing town that has interest in expansion, recruiter rank is almost a necessity.

Judge need the perm to jail someone.

Farmer should be able to break blocks on farm plots.

Builder should be able to build but not change plot perms. Also can't acces the town money.

The others don't seem very usefull

Supervisors- Looks into players creations/property and looks for broken server/town rules.
Insurance (dealer)-If you lose items,blocks,ect, you can get them recovered and for a small fee
Landlord (taken from previous ideas)- Condemns structures
Council(all residents of all stats)-Decides on new town ideas for everyone's enjoyment/wants/needs
Stable/barn person xD- Looks after residents' animals, dogs,cats,horses,pigs and what ever else
Distribute Officer- Gets items from farmers and miners to the towns people
Mailman-gets items to player to play. Unlike Distributing office, this is private and 2 parties are involved rather than everyone else
