I went to sentinel at about 15 minutes ago and experienced serious lag. I couldn't do Ecs to disconnect, because there was too much lag. I thought my computer did this, since its very old asnd laggy. After 2 minutes of waiting, the lag completely disappeared. Then I died out of nowhere when I was in the spawn. I couldnt respawn, because the respawn button did nothing. I went to title screen because i had no other choice and logged in again. My inventory was empty but I'm sure it was almost full when i logged out earlier today. I don't remember what i had in it. Fjerreiro told me that was probably a towny crash and that I should always log out when that lag was happening but i didnt know that before. So now im here :/

There was not a towny crash 15 minutes ago and when you lag that bad you shouldn't be standing waiting for 2 minutes. Your inventory must have dropped where you died. If not, that means it passed the 5 minutes despawn. This issue seems to not be a server side thing.

I had major lags many times before. Nothing like that ever happened, so i never thought much of it and always waited it out. I never knew you had to somehow get out when that happens or you will loose your inventory. So that means that i can't get my OP tools back... ever?
