Sorry if I'm not "allowed" to make a thread here. I didn't know where else to ask, or bring up this suggestion.
Back when Sentinel was updating to 1.8, we had a temp world. A couple of ideas sprung up as to what we would do with this: keep it as a warp, maybe put it on the forums, etc. As far as I know, we did none of those. However, for pern, I'm asking whether it would be possible to put this world up for download as well. Maybe people want to continue their own builds, or just blow up the town of market. I know I saw somewhere that we would keep pern as a "museum" world, but I thought it would be an interesting idea to see if we could just have the world in singleplayer.
Again, sorry if this was already a thread or an answered question. I haven't been paying much attention.

just curious..... how big is the file size lol
Each loaded chunk has at least 11520 bytes of data (based on the information on http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Chunk_format (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Chunk_format)). There are around 30679615 chunks in a world with a 50000-block world border. If all the chunks are fully loaded (and there are no entities and tile entities), there will be 329.2GB of data (The file size of the loaded chunks are usually a bit bigger, but the chunks in the pern is far from fully loaded. Hmm... 329.2GB isn't as much as I have expected).

well that's definitely a lot of data.... Posting it somewhere on the internet would probably be difficult i guess? just to say if the admin team decide to do that I would be interested in downloading it though xD maybe Torrenting? xd

More than 300 GB? That's definitely a bit more than I expected. All of the worlds I've ever had were under 1 GB.
