You will have to left-click the spawner with the egg on your hand.

Yeah. I think that your spawner needs to be in a swamp biome. =]

A spawner should work anywhere you place it. Regardless of the monsters biome requirement.

Were you trying to place it somewhere in a town? If that is the case then that is why it wouldnt spawn. If not please replicate the problem and show one of the staff so we can get it sorted out.

monster spawners dont really work anywhere, you need to have correct environment... a pig won't spawn if there is no grass, I cow won't spawn if there is no light, a hostile mob won't spawn in lightlevel +6... a slime wont spawn in any random chunk...

Slime spawns naturally in swamps, depending upon the phase of the moon, and in specific chunks called 'slime chunks'; in slime chunks slime spawn below LEVEL 40 only.

also mobs wont spawn if you are in a 25 block radius from it.

Nuff~Said...

to use a mob spawner it must meet the spawning conditions slimes require slime chunks 0-39 or swamp biomes 40-70 (im guessing on the Y cords im not wiki)

sheep cows wolfs pigs all need grass to spawn this is also why zombies and skellys need darkness to spawn

prolly helps if i read debus post before i post  >_>
