Some math:
Total number of materials:
178.75 stacks of red concrete
90 stacks of torches
90 stacks of redstone torches
52.25 stacks of pistons
52.25 stacks of melon seeds
104.5 stacks of dirt
Output:
out of 52 pillars 19 layers high with a 2.5 average number of melons per layer (if 100% lossless): 193 stacks of melons per harvest.

Wow that's amazing. Keep up the good work.

just want to know, is this a LAG fount when harvesting? clearly is not auto-farm but the amount of redstone my guess is going to interfere with some gameplay from time to time right?

If it will end up being a server lag source, please report to us. Anything that causes lag should be removed or changed.

it causes almost no lag except for a small stutter for 2-3 seconds.
the way i laid down the bottom redstone means theres a delay between the activation of all the pillars, preventing it from lagging.
