Title: Villagers on Skyblock
Post by: rcheung2 on May 25, 2019, 02:48:54 AM
Reached the point where I'm trying to work with villagers (specifically breeding them).

I know we can't drop items but I am able to get carrots etc on the ground near them.  They, unfortunately, won't pick them up.  Did see this was a problem elsewhere but was fixed.

Is this fix possible for skyblock?

Hi rcheung2! This is intended behavior in skyblock. It is not intended behavior in the towny world, which is why it got fixed. Villager item pickup is disabled in skyblock to prevent an exploit. You can breed villagers without feeding them however!

A pair of villagers have a variable chance to breed if they can detect at least 9 valid doors, when they are traded with. It?s a 100% chance the first time, and I think a 20% chance after that.

Good luck!

I've read somewhere if you trade with them you get the same results as giving them food. Like Banenanana says they villager must think there is space for more villagers by placing doors. There is a full system behind it.

Thanks for the follow up!  Will go the trading route for breeding
