Title: Window Title Changer ~ Approved
Post by: amnotbananaama on January 24, 2020, 07:45:00 PM
Name of the mod: Window Title Changer (Fabric)
Url about it: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fabric-title-changer
Why do you think it should be allowed: Window Title Changer (Fabric) allows players to removes some of the annoyances that Mojang has added to the title bar and client brand of Minecraft in 1.15.2. In particular, it allows players to remove:
- The asterisk in the title bar when playing Minecraft with mods installed. - The phrase "Multiplayer (3rd-party)" in the title bar when playing on a Multiplayer server.
This mod would provide no unfair advantage, because it is only fixing some annoying text on the title screen of Minecraft. It has absolutely no impact whatsoever on gameplay. This text was added in part because Mojang is concerned about the recent $170 million fine paid by YouTube (https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2019/09/google-youtube-will-pay-record-170-million-alleged-violations) relating to the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Although I understand Mojang is trying to avoid lawsuits from neglectful parents, I would prefer not to see this text.
