Welcome to the third edition of "Outside the Blocks"!
In this series, I will be interviewing different members of our community in order to get to know them a little better!
Today, our guest is JohnBarry99 - a member of our community since December 2014!
He's currently in Code and actively involved in the Peenoi community!
For those that do not know JohnBarry just yet, here's a brief description by a friend of his:
"Barry is an outgoing person and his mere presence makes people feel at ease.
Having known him for a long time, I can say that he has a generally calm demeanor and he would often approach any matter in a levelheaded manner.
Humorous and fun at the same time, he never fails to lighten up the mood of any dreary atmosphere."

Hi JB! Thank you for making time for me to answer some of our community questions!
First of all, congratulations on winning the Sentinel Awards a while back! Did you expect to win this event?
Thank you, Bren! I actually didn't expect that I would win this year's SC awards. I thought to myself that I'll be there in the last three spots
because the nominees were really good too, especially you and Nana! I was even shocked that I even got in the top 3!
How'd you do it?! Did you end up bribing Migas?
I wish I did (I'd do it with cheese!), but I guess I got lots of support from my friends on the server, especially the Peenoi gang!
By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who spent time voting for me and my fellow nominees <3
Hah! Speaking about the Peenoi gang, I think most of our active players know you're a part of this smaller community.
Would you'd like to share a little bit with us where you grew up?
I grew up in the Philippines and I'm currently in college, studying nursing as my pre-medical course since it's required here to have a bachelor's degree before studying medicine.
Prior to that, life was hard for me because I was bullied during primary and high school. I found SentinelCraft around December 2014 just to relieve some stress.
I actually found a great community and stayed for years! The server helped me recover from bullying and found a new family despite the physical distance.
I felt the love and support everyone has given me through the years although no one knew my experiences in real life.
Go get that education, sounds exciting!! Also, that is so heartwarming to hear JB, know that we are happy to have you as well!
What are some of your favourite moments on the server?
What I really can't forget are the moments I played and built for lots of hours with Darkshadow (ayy lmao!) in Lionmart.
Also, I love those times when I would go with Eli and/or Pec in Pern and go on an adventure.
I also cherish the times when I bonded with my Filipino friends, either trolling fellow Peenoise members, partying (in the server, of course), or just chilling and just enjoying the moment.
Why did my wife never speak to me about these fun activities? Eli!?
Speaking about bonding with your Filipino friends, the word goes that you are hosting a PeenoiseSentinelCon soon and streaming it to us!
I didn't know about that one... Maybe it was a secret plan of some members (or maybe I'm the one who's left uninformed hmmm)
But if it will happen, sure! We'll stream it and take photos and videos to share with you, guys!
Thats what I'd like to hear! Say you had a free pass to ban someone from the Pinooi community, who would it be and why?
Hmmm... this one's difficult HAHA

We're actually close in real life (eww) because we were classmates before in high school, and I don't want people close to me to see me in Minecraft speaking and blabbering in English HAHAHA
It's fun to play with him though. We get to agree in many aspects, especially Minecraft!
Within every interview I include some questions from our community.
Your friends had a very specific one. They were explaining to me that you were afraid of the DZBB, what happened my dude?
Oh my god, nooooooo D:
To those who don't know what DZBB is, it is a national news radio station here in the Philippines.
It's probably Del's favorite news radio station, that's why he sings their radio jingle from time to time.
I got horrified when Del sang it first on Peenoise voice chat, and I can still hear his voice with the loud background music ;;
It's really giving me chills when I get to hear the music or hear him sing it
I accidentally put my volume on full then he played it for the first time, and I got scared! I was even wearing my earphones ;-;
Sounds like we're all missing out on some great fun, they should do a duet with Joel sometime! I often call you Justin Bieber,
do you actually like his music? What kind of music do you listen to, speaking about a radio station?
I kind of liked Justin Bieber's songs before because they were actually a bop! Now, I'm more into bossa nova, local R&B, and pop, especially Korean pop!
You'll often see my status on Discord with "Listening to Spotify" and you'll see Korean pop songs on loop for hours XD
How do you feel about people "hating" on K-pop?
It's actually fine for me when people hate K-pop because we all have different tastes in music.
I might like K-pop but you might not like it, but what's important is we get to listen to the harmony, notes, and the message we want to hear from the music we like.
Although hating K-pop for me is fine, "attacking" those who listen to K-pop is way too low.
One does not need to attack others who listen to a genre they don't like.
They can simply accept their differences and let them hear the songs that you like. There's a chance that they might like it too!
I like the positivity in that message! After all this time on the server, what is something you would like to see changed in the future?
I have seen the server grow in the past five years, with the new changes helping the server to prosper.
I hope to see more great builds featured, more social events (bring back the SC Mag and building contests pleaseeee), more games, and more player interactions!
I'd love to see the server I've been in years to be as great as ever!

Who is your favourite moderator, who should go ahead and apply for a staff position, who would you permanently mute and who of the boys on the server would you marry!

Joel4Staff, forever mute Aatif so he won't go typing in the wrong chat again,
and of course marry Demon! He's kind, responsible, and has beautiful hair uwu
One of my last questions for you Barry, after knowing that Jonah needs to be banned..
if you were given the opportunity of becoming a staff member, would you take it?
I would! Although I'm not as excellent as the current staff in terms of executing server commands,
I am dedicated to learning to become a better staff member.
Being active in the day in my place, during the hours with no staff online, makes me want to apply for staff, but we'll see! ;)
