Request Password Change / Narwhals64 Password Reset
« on: January 19, 2019, 02:46:17 PM »
I'm gonna need a password reset for Narwhals64.
I already sent a message to Migas about it since I didn't see this topic, so now I'm posting it here.

Ban Appeals / bricer123 ban appeal
« on: January 08, 2019, 12:16:24 AM »
- In-game name: Narwhals64 (was bricer123)

- Date and time of ban? (Include Timezone): no idea - a couple years ago

- Which Staff member banned you? (Blank if you do not know)

- Why were you banned? (What Appears on your ban message) for bricer123, I was banned for toxic behavior.  For Narwhals64, I was banned for multi-accounting.

- Were you previously jailed or muted? (If yes, say why) I was jailed one time for ten minutes by cool for accidentally tp killing.

- Why should you be unbanned?

On my bricer123 account, I was banned for toxic behavior.  I don't know if anyone cares enough to remember the whole thing multiple years ago, so a quick refresher: I was very snarky and had a sarcastic attitude in chat, grammar corrected people to be annoying, etc.  I was temp-banned before the perma-ban because my Mac didn't allow me to talk in whatever primitive voice chat application we used back then, which led to Sinafay getting the wrong idea and calling me insecure, so I over reacted and called him an asshole or something.  I was temp banned for a week and I think Sina was punished in some way as well.  Later, I was banned from the Discord server for making school shooting jokes with another mod - guess who, it's Sinafay.  Migas was sitting quietly, muted but listening to our conversation, so he heard the school shooting jokes and didn't appreciate them.  So I got kicked from the Discord and Sina got punished again.  My final offense was was something that wasn't even against the rules, but the owner of the server got "fed" up with my dozens of previous offenses.  We had a long conversation over Skype about it, and I ended up just giving up on reasoning with him.

As for Narwhals64, I was banned for multi-accounting.  Basically, I saw on the forums that there was a new spawn, so I joined on my renamed account (this is a cracked server, so it's the same account but with a different name) to take a quick look at the spawn.  I knew I would be banned within a couple minutes but I just wanted to see it anyway.

As for my actions under bricer123, I was willing to argue every case with Fed, but I think we both just got bored of the conversation after a while (it didn't help that I had scarce access to WiFi at the time, so we couldn't even have a direct conversation).  Anyway, I'm not here to argue these actions.  I may be spending a lot more time on my PC now, so I figured I'd take a shot at getting unbanned.  I do miss talking to a lot of the people on this server, and I'd like to see what the server's been doing in my absence.  Obviously, I take full responsibility for all of my previous actions.  I believe I've matured enough after two or three years of being banned.  The main objective of getting unbanned is simply to drop in, look around, and chat with people for the most part.

Additional Information: the damn people on this server got me into anime and now I'm a huge [heck]ing weeb so thanks for that.

Non-Minecraft Topics / Re: Need a new PC. Any advice?
« on: January 08, 2018, 12:07:08 PM »
having more than 8 gb isnt even close to overkill. I had issues in minecraft on my old pc with only 8 gb of ram and 16gb has pretty much become the norm now.
I'm not going to sit here and argue about hardware because I'm not much of an expert, but to me, that seems like a problem with how the RAM was allocated.  In my personal experiences,
I've been able to run games like Minecraft on any old computer.  I've found that Mojang (Mojang, not Microsoft) was actually quite skilled at optimizing their game, much like how League of Legends can be played on anything from a supercomputer to a potato-powered toaster oven.  It doesn't matter how much of a monster your computer is, as allocating anything more than 4GB to Minecraft probably won't do anything,
unless you're running some crazy 512x512 resource pack with 64 chunks render distance and heavy shaders on Feed The Beast.

If it's not too late, I just built my first PC.  I don't know a lot about hardware (more of a software guy I guess, hardware just confuses me), but I'm running on an Intel i3 and 8GB (4GBx2) RAM.
When I told my friends that decision, they pulled their hair out of their heads, but I have a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti as my graphics card so I'm good on graphics.  If you know how to work a computer well, getting any more than 8GB for Minecraft and everyday computer usage is complete overkill.  I'd suggest not getting an i3 if you also like having Discord or Spotify open at the same time, but it works fine enough for me.  Anything better than an i5, again, is probably overkill unless you want your computer to last forever.  But considering the two of us both use our PS4s for the actual games, I'd say you're in the same boat as me.
If you've already started gathering the parts, though, having those "overkill" pieces will definitely last you much longer and if you, at any time, decide to switch to PC gaming, you'll be happy you got them.
If you're a complete noob like I was, I recommend the following video to help you build your PC.  I watched it up until he set up the drivers, and I couldn't manage to follow him after that part, but hopefully the rest is optional.

Oh and add me on PS4.  I have no friends and I'm plugging my IGN like a little scumbag: Narwhals64

Ban Appeals / bricer123 - Ban Appeal
« on: December 05, 2016, 12:00:29 AM »
- In-game name: bricer123

- Date and time of ban? (Include Timezone): Around 18:00 EST.  4 December 2016.

- Which Staff member banned you? (Blank if you do not know) I assume it was Fed.

- Why were you banned? (What Appears on your ban message) Trolling.

- Were you previously jailed or muted? (If yes, say why) Yes, I've been jailed and muted.  Jailed, for accidentally TP killing people (I was only jailed for around five minutes because the mods knew it was an accident), and muted for saying something sexual in chat.  I've probably been jailed or muted other times, but I forget, as they were a long time ago.

- Why should you be unbanned? I didn't troll anyone.  The ban says for trolling and Fed thinks we trolled someone by the name of Doge.  However, I never actually trolled Doge.  It started when Doge posted his coords in chat, followed by something along the lines of "come to me if you dare."  Another donor and I (Frostemort or Coldemort or something like that, sorry, I forget your name) went to his coords to kill him.  However, Doge was in the nether, so we had to wait for him to get out.  While we were waiting, we killed his dogs (I don't know specifically who killed his dogs.  I think I only killed a few, and some other donors besides Whateveremort and I were also there and also killed some of them).  Then, Doge came out of the Nether portal and saw that his dogs were missing.  I ended up luring him out of his claimed area, and killing him.
Never have I ever heard that "trolling" is against the Sentinel rules.  In fact, I have also never seen fair PvP be against the rules.  What we did was completely fair.  At least, I know what I did was completely fair.  I used a /guild home to get closer to Doge's house before I hunted him.  This is fair.  I travelled at least 1,000 blocks on foot to get to him.  This is fair.  I killed his dogs for PvP purposes (I didn't want them attacking me mid-fight).  This, as far as I know, is still fair.  I killed Doge, who had full enchanted diamond armor, with my bow.  This is still fair.

Additional Information:

1. I did (kind of) break a rule by staying near his plot when he told me to leave.  Doge told me to get out (he actually did use my name, so I had to leave), and I stayed for longer than twenty seconds.  However,
     a. I was invisible and not doing anything to harm him.
     b. I was checking his wall to make sure I didn't grief it.  I didn't recall breaking any blocks - not even tall grass (/pvpon didn't work, so I only used my bow in order to not accidentally break any tall grass or crops) - but he accused me of doing so in order to get into his area.  I just ran around his base for a little under a minute, unnoticed by him, to make sure that nothing looked out of the ordinary.  I honestly forget how I got to his base, so I concluded that I used Frost Walker in order to take advantage of a poorly made side of his wall (there was a big lake right next to his area, and I remember having to cross a big swampy lake, so that adds up).
     c. I was out in less than a minute.  Sure, it's more than the twenty seconds we're supposed to be out by, but again, I was just checking his wall.
     d. He did see someone else and, presumably thinking it was me, tell me to leave once more.  However, by then, I was already at my own base.
     e.  Fed knows that I didn't stay there for more than a couple minutes because I saw him flying around my sheep farm for a couple seconds, then disappear.

2. I have trolled other users countless times before the update to 1.10.  This trolling would include disguising as a burning squid, claiming to be some sort of god or something, followed with jeff (I think it was jeff, it may have been illum.  It's been a while since we did that.) disguising as a Godzilla magmacube.  What we did was harmless, but it was our idea of fun, semi-trolling.  The members who we trolled were also having fun.  However, this "trolling" never got too far out of hand.  What we did was harmless, and nobody ever told us not to do it.

3. So, I proved earlier that I didn't technically troll anyone and what I did was fair PvP.  However, I also may have been banned for some form of bullying, and if so, then I'd like to also prove that I didn't bully anyone.  It could be argued that, yes, a large group of SM+ members went over to kill Doge and his many dogs.  However, this isn't bullying: allow me to remind you that Doge actually posted his coords in general chat and said a message along the lines of "come here if you dare."  I took this as a challenge, and I wanted to fight someone.

4. I won't lie, I enjoyed killing his dogs.  But again, why risk dogs attacking me when I attacked their owner?  And I don't think killing dogs has ever been against the rules.

5. I was never actually given the specifics of my ban.  I was just banned for "trolling."  I was hoping around my little base, and then I got the ban message.  However, I don't actually know who I trolled (do remember that I just finished proving that I didn't even troll anyone - it was just fair PvP).  So if I wasn't banned because I "trolled" Doge, then please let me know, so I can clear up any other issues.

Thank you, in advance, for reading over my appeal.  I look forward to your response.

Bug Reports / Glitchy Chat
« on: November 27, 2016, 07:22:12 PM »
I don't know if this has been covered at all, but the chat is kind of glitchy when I change between them.

The attachment shows me supposedly switching to SM chat, but then I'm clearly not there.

More than 300 GB?  That's definitely a bit more than I expected.  All of the worlds I've ever had were under 1 GB.
