I'm glad Skyblock is getting some love. 

I just unlocked the Advanced challenges over the weekend. So far I've only had a problem with the villager breeder challenge.  I Agree the passive mob spawning rates are really low. The basic cow, chicken, horse sheep spawned fine but I haven't tried the other zoo challenges that require more exotic animals.  maybe spawn eggs are the way to go.
