Origin / Origin Preservation Project

Origin Preservation Project

As Origin has had a great start and seen many people join and play, it is becoming apparent that key areas of interest need preserving for future players to explore and use. Because of this, the Origin Preservation Project has been founded with the following mission statement:

1. Protect key areas of interest which include but are not limited to:
   a.    The Spawn Region around 0,0
   b.    Nether Spawn Region around 0,0
   c.    The End Island (end spawn)
   d.    The Stronghold in the overworld

These areas are protected by with a 100-block radius around them, ranging from world high limit to the bedrock floor. Any builds within this radius is subject to removal without any notice and without refund of materials. Any major damage to these areas will be dealt within through the Origin Rules.

The reason for such extreme rules for areas of importance is to ensure players do not waste time making things in these areas. This also allows us to keep these areas free for community lead projects that are open to all players to use for progression no matter when they joined Origin.

Additions to these rules can be made at any time either through Senior Staff additions or through community government for which a framework is being put together and likely released in the coming weeks. Keep checking back for more additions!

Admin Application / Admin Application: evzntv
« on: November 19, 2021, 06:08:30 PM »
- What is your in-game name?
evzntv

- Current Rank?
Moderator

- How long have you been on the server?
I joined SentinelCraft in Sept. 2019 but I have played consistently on Sentinel since January 2021.

- How long have you been a Moderator?
Just under 7 months.

- What is your main specialization that stands out and can benefit the server?
My main specialization is undoubtedly player/community relations. In my time at SentinelCraft, I've accomplished a number of things that have sealed this as my biggest strength. I've become a full time RoW/ToF host, founded and mayored a major town in Faygo Dreams, created several helpful guides (both written and video guides), and even started a weekly series called Weekend Observations which directly reported the events that occurred in the week (unfortunately, with me working on weekends, I no longer have time to maintain WO :(). In all of these different things, I believe I have provided a widespread positive impact within the community. I believe with the Administrator rank, I can expand on even more ideas I have that will benefit our wonderful community.

Additionally, I feel like I am a very dependable person when it comes to anything Sentinel related. I've been willing to apply my personal strengths such as video editing or journalistic formatting and apply that to Sentinel. I?ve also shown my dependability with almost daily activity since January with the exception of a few weeks. In a time where a lot of other staff were busy with personal matters, I was always around trying to help the community in any way I could. I've also been willing to do anything that is asked of me, even if that means learning something completely new.

- Is there any Staff member that suggested you to apply to admin?
No one directly suggested it, but I've had conversations with other staff members about this rank. I can detail more of this in private.

- What experience do you have being a Moderator/Admin?
I have just under 7 months experience here in Sentinel, and 10 months as a Moderator elsewhere. In total, I have 17 months experience as a Moderator.

- If you have had previous experience, what servers did you moderate?
The name of the server was OMC (the doors have long closed)

- What plugins are you familiar with?
By far, I am most familiar with the Towny plugin. So much so, to the point where I?ve helped a little behind the scenes on making sure things transitioned smoothly during the Bungee Transfer. Besides that, I am familiar with our Signs plugin (I created both guides) as well as MCMMO, LWC, LogBlock, and GriefPrevention. I'm willing to learn more if needed!

- Are you currently staff on any other servers?
Nope.

- Additional Information:
So far in my time as Moderator, I feel for the most part, I have provided a positive impact overall. I'm applying for Administrator because I feel that I can continue that positive impact in a larger role that will best help our community. Please feel free to reach out about any additional info you might need from me.

For this application, I would prefer a private response.

Thanks to the entire Sentinel community for being like family, and thank you to the Senior Staff for taking the time to read this application.

Faygo Dreams / Faygo Dreams: Plot Rank Up Applications!
« on: October 10, 2021, 07:30:29 AM »
Hi residents of Faygo!

Due to the changes made on towny taxes, we have had to also modify our own plot policies. We no longer offer a 2 plot rank up system as we once did. However, we have now modified our own policies where members can now move up directly from a 16x16 plot to a 32x32 plot! If you think you've been a contributing resident to Faygo Dreams, and deserve to own a 32x32 plot, you can use this format to obtain a bigger plot. This thread will be recurring, so all applications will be inside this thread.

Application Format:

In Game Name:
What contributions have you made towards the town?
Why do you deserve to obtain more land?

Requirements will include:
- Must be a resident of Faygo for 10 days.
- Must be active and willing to contribute to others.
- Must be aware that IF your application gets accepted, your plot taxes will increase from $10/day to $40/day. Filling out an application is a confirmation of your knowledge on this.

Faygo Dreams / Faygo Dreams Tax Policy
« on: October 10, 2021, 07:06:56 AM »
Faygo Dreams Tax Policy

Due to recent changes within the towny system, we have updated our tax and plot policies.

Hello great residents of Faygo. As most of you know by now, there has been a seismic change on how towny is operated within SentinelCraft, one that has caused us to make some significant changes regarding to both the tax and plot policy here at Faygo Dreams. We've had the good fortune in the past to allow all to live tax-free in a town that was designed as a fun community within a community. However, with the towny changes presented, this has made the tax-free part impossible to move forward with. As of October 10th, 2021, our current upkeep is $2,068/day. With the new towny changes, our new projected daily upkeep would be $5,170/day, a huge jump from the former upkeep price. Because of this, the members of the Faygo Dreams staff have come together to come up with a refined tax policy that we feel is fair and reasonable moving forward. We will also be updating our plot policy, and you can read more about that in this thread http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10613: .This post should provide insight and clarity of these reformed policies.

Tax Policy

Town Taxes: $20/day
(Faygo Dreams Town Staff and holders of the VIP rank are exempt from this tax)

16x16 Resident Plot: $10/day

32x32 Resident Plot: $40/day

16x16 Embassy Plot: $25/day

32x32 Embassy Plot: $100/day

(THESE TAXES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY GIVEN POINT)

Another thing of note that we have elected to do is add a spawncost for outsiders. Faygo Dreams residents and members of the United Faygo Order will not have to pay this spawncost. All other outsiders will have to pay $15 to teleport to Faygo Dreams. We hope that all of you understand that these changes weren't easy to make, but we feel that this will be for the betterment of Faygo as we move towards an even brighter future. Thank you all for reading this and we hope you continue to enjoy all of the great things that makes Faygo special <3

Faygo Dreams / Faygo Dreams Plot Rules & Allocations
« on: September 15, 2021, 03:35:20 PM »
Faygo Dreams Plot Rules

Hi great residents of Faygo. The Faygo town staff and I have elected to make some changes to the current plot rules in town. Here are the new plot rules.

General Plot Rules

- Builds must be appeasable! (No dirt houses, cobblestone huts). This keeps the town looking nice!
- No extreme basements. Basements are allowed, but please keep them limited
- No excessive amounts of mobs in one plot. This is reviewed on a case to case basis.
- No building on or near the roads (including sidewalks). Normal residents should not have permission to build here anyways, but this is in the case permissions are enabled.

Plot Allocations

1 Plot (16 x 16):

- Members receive 1 plot (16 x 16)
- Senior Members can choose to have one plot, instead of 4 plots (32x32)
- Faygo Dreams Staff Members can choose to have one plot, instead of 4 plots (32x32)
- A tax of $10 will be paid daily on this plot. Failure to pay it, will cause the plot to be repossessed.

4 Plots (32 x 32):

- Senior Members, Donators, and Server Staff are automatically eligible
- Members who are active and in good standing with the town/server can also obtain a 32x32 plot.
- A tax of $40 will be paid daily on this 32x32 chunk of land. Failure to pay it, will cause the plot to be repossessed.

Embassies:

- Embassies can be requested by outsiders at request. Contact a Co-Mayor+ if you are interested in an embassy.
- Embassies can either be 16x16 or 32x32
- Embassy taxes for 16x16 plots are $25 per day.
- Embassy taxes for 32x32 plots are $100 per day.

Shop Plots:

- Shop plots can be purchased for your own personal shop in Faygo! These plots are 16 x 16.
- For outsiders a shop plot costs $3000
- For town/nation members a shop plot costs $2000

- These plots will be listed as normal or embassy. Plot taxes for shops will vary on this.

If you have any questions about these plot rules and allocations, contact a Town Assistant+.

Guides / Guide to Signs
« on: July 22, 2021, 07:31:10 PM »
SentinelCraft Sign Guide

Hi everyone!

In this guide, we will be teaching you how to make your own player-shops using signs.

Tutorial Video

Sell Signs

At our /shop, you will notice that there are [Buy] and [Sell] signs. These signs are exclusive to /shop and cannot be made by players. These signs are important, because they are a good way to sell your items to make money. However, not all items can be sold at /shop or even our other economy plugin /auctionhouse.

<a href="https://ibb.co/vm0DBK1"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/WFms3Yn/2021-07-20-17-51-08.png" alt="2021-07-20-17-51-08" border="0"></a>

Our /shop allows you to sell several items for quick money. But not all items can be sold here.

Selling Items with Trade Signs

The most common type of player-shop is selling to other players using trade signs. This can be done either with in-game currency or with other items. Here's how you would setup one of these signs.

LINE 1:

On the first line, you will need to type in [Trade]. This is all you need to do on the first line.

LINE 2:

On this line, you will need to type in your asking price. Your asking price can either be in the form of in-game currency or other items. In example 1, I want to set my asking price at $100. To do this you will need to type in $100. In the second example, I want to set my asking price at 1 Diamond. Typing in 1 Diamond will set your asking price at 1 Diamond. You will also see that there is an additional colon the second line. There is no need to type this in as once you finish the sign, it will automatically appear. This tells you how much money is in the sign once someone has bought your items. This can be retrieved by right-clicking the sign.

<a href="https://ibb.co/d0Rtg8t"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/zhzFJqF/croppedtradesign1.png" alt="croppedtradesign1" border="0"></a><a href="https://ibb.co/PNg6sxg"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/9NWrmnW/croppedtradesign2.png" alt="croppedtradesign2" border="0"></a>

LINE 3:

This line is arguably the trickiest line to type in. It may seem intimidating on the surface, but it's much simpler than it seems. On this line you will need to type in the amount of items per transaction you are selling, as well as the supply of items you want in the sign. The way you would type this sign would be: <Amount per transaction><item name>: <supply>. In this example, I want to sell an amount of 64 stone blocks with 320 blocks (5 stacks) stored inside the sign. It's important that when typing in the item you want to sell, that you have the correct item names or ItemDB for the sign. To check this, you can type in /itemdb while holding the item in your hand. This will give you a list of correct names to put on the sign.

<a href="https://ibb.co/5WPXZnj"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/RpqG8B6/64stone320.png" alt="64stone320" border="0"></a>

LINE 4:

You will leave this line blank and press Done! Below are your finished products.

<a href="https://ibb.co/GR0ggm7"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/BBt88kL/finishedtradesign1.png" alt="finishedtradesign1" border="0"></a>   <a href="https://ibb.co/cQb7pTv"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/M783jNh/finishedtradesign2.png" alt="finishedtradesign2" border="0"></a>

In the first sign, I am selling 64 stone for $100 with 320 blocks in stock. In the second sign, I am selling 64 stone for 1 Diamond with 320 blocks in stock.

If your new found shop does well and you run out of blocks in the sign, you can add more into the sign by adding the item in to your hotbar. You CANNOT add items into the sign from your inventory, it must be in the hotbar.

Buying Items with Trade Signs

You can also buy items from player using trade signs. This is an effective way to receive items you need while you're offline. This is how you setup one of these signs.

LINE 1:

On the first line, you will need to type in [Trade]. This is all you need to do on the first line.

LINE 2:

This line is essentially inverted from sell sign. You will need to type in the correct ItemDB for the item you are buying. In this example below, I will be buying 1 gold block. Like the sell signs, an additional colon will appear in this example, but you don't need to type this in. The colon will indicate the amount of items that have been sold to you. To retrieve these items, you can right click on the sign.

<a href="https://ibb.co/nPd8MRn"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/6X9J0N1/croppedsign3.png" alt="croppedsign3" border="0"></a>

gblock is one of many correct itemdb's for gold blocks.

LINE 3:

For this line, you will need to type in the amount that you want to buy the item for as well as the money you want store in the sign. This is proper format: <Amount per transaction:Amount of money stored in the sign>. In this example, I want to set my buying price at $1000 and I want to store $7000 into the sign. Once the sign is created, the money will be directly taken from your account. It's important to supply enough money into the sign, because once all of the money stored is gone, money CANNOT be reloaded into the sign. This will force you to make a brand new sign.
<a href="https://ibb.co/rvpnx4h"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/QXHsPrV/croppedsign10008000.png" alt="croppedsign10008000" border="0"></a><br />

LINE 4:

Once again, you leave this line empty. Here's your finished product!

<a href="https://ibb.co/jJt2NYc"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/0s5S7Lg/finishedsign3.png" alt="finishedsign3" border="0"></a>

In this sign, I am buying 1 gold block for $1000 each, with $7000 stored into the sign.

Selling EXP with Trade Signs

With Trade signs, you can also sell your own EXP to other players! It's important to know how much EXP you have before you sell it. You can check your EXP levels by doing the /exp command. Once you know how many levels you have, you can move forward with selling your exp.

LINE 1:

On the first line, you will need to type in [Trade]. This is all you need to do on the first line.

LINE 2:

This line will be the asking price you want to sell your exp for. This is exact same scenario as if you were selling items to other players.

LINE 3:

On this line, you will need to type in the amount of exp you want to sell as well as the amount you want to supply in the sign. To do this it's <Amount per transaction> exp:<Amount supplied>. In this example, I want to sell 1,395 EXP per transaction with 1,395 EXP stored into the sign.

<a href="https://ibb.co/L6TC0fq"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/TRQHw5n/croppedimagexp.png" alt="croppedimagexp" border="0"></a>

1395 EXP is common with these signs, as it equates to 30 EXP levels.

LINE 4:

As always, leave this empty. Here is the finished product!

<a href="https://ibb.co/1TB9vZS"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/m4dHDJx/expsignguide.png" alt="expsignguide" border="0"></a>

In this sign, I am selling 1395 EXP for $100 each, with 1395 EXP stored into the sign.

The important thing to note is once you make this sign, you CANNOT reload the sign with more exp. You must make a brand new sign if you wish to reload more EXP.

Disposal Signs

With signs, you can craft your own [Disposal] signs. These signs allow you to dispose of any unwanted items. To make this, all you have to do is type [Disposal] on the first line of the sign and press Done. To use the sign, you can right click on the sign and it will allow you to place items within it. Once you close out of the sign, the items left in the sign will be disposed.

<a href="https://ibb.co/XkxzT6M"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/Z1zhCv7/disposalsign.png" alt="disposalsign" border="0"></a>

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion over the last two weeks.

SkotKeller: From Member to Donator
oozma: From Donator to Donator
ash_65: From Member to Donator
Aujime: From Member to Donator
jellyist: From Member to Donator
PatrickYD: From Member to Donator
PhatPastel: From Member to Donator
ShadowPandaa: From Member to Donator
Superkfish: From Member to Donator
Anshukk: From Member to Senior Member

A promotion that caught my eye in particular was Anshukk, becoming the first to be promoted to Senior Member for the first time in some months. I decided to contact him for an exclusive interview (interview edited for clarity purposes).

Ev: Congrats on Senior Member! How's it feel to be SM?

Ans: Tbh it feels awesome. When I first joined sentinel, it was the first server I joined. Actually before that i never knew about servers and multiplayers tbh lol. Since then I had applied for SM 3 times. First time was a disaster. I was banned that week, because I had let my brother play into my account for a few minutes and then I disappeared from sentinel for a long time then I returned a few months ago and many things had changed I left Market and joined gotham, made some really good friends, and now I am a SM and my town's Assistant, so in total it has been great.

Ev: You mentioned that you took some time away from Sentinel, what made you decide to come back after a long disappearance?

Ans: When I got banned from sentinel, I did not know whether i will be unbanned because my appeal was not considered, so I thought it was over with sentinel, and sentinel was the best and still is the best server I have ever joined. So I thought i was never gonna come back to sentinel and started playing some bedwars and single player. Since then I had stopped looking at the forums. I used to keep contact with Barry (JohnBarry99) and would have some conversation with him.
One day while talking to him I just randomly asked him how was it going on with everyone at sentinel. He told me "why don't u come around and have a look?'. I told him that I was banned if he did not remember. Then Barry told me to check forums.
When I opened forums and clicked on my second appeal I gasped in astonishment to see that I was unbanned. Also to add, I went to try on many other servers but i couldn't find a server like sentinel, and since then I again started playing in the server.
Hopefully I dont do anything stupid in the near future and get into some consequences again.

Ev: Yeah true haha. That's a very interesting story though! I had no idea you were banned and were away for so long. I myself was away for a long period of time, but making my way back here was one of the best decisions I've made. Your story is very unique though in that you went from banned to Senior Member in the span of a few months. To anyone thats thinking about applying for Senior Member, what advice would you give them?

Ans: To people who would like to apply for SM i would ask them to be regular to the server talk to people, help players, have a good reputation of yourself in the server, and vote. Earlier i was not a talkative kind of person just used to help and thus nobody knew me back then, not bugs, Moog, or even you Ev. But after i came back, I started talking to you guys, indulged in the activities like RoW (not ToF sorry cause trivia is not my cup of tea tbh), and used to be regular, and now I know not many people know about me but at least I am better that the first time I joined. Progress is progress.

Ev: Progress is super important. You could not have been more accurate with that. Very good stuff! What does the immediate future look like for you? Any builds/projects?

Ans: Thank you ev! For now I was working on my own base which i would like to improve. Also I have been wanting to help my town members to make gotham better. Now I am an assistant, I can help with the big projects and keep myself indulged with work in mc as well as irl. As per my future in sentinel, now I would want to use this rank I achieved to help more and then one day apply for moderator.

Ev: Sounds like the future is very bright for you :). Thanks for your time Ans!

Ans: Anytime :D, thanks for interviewing me!

Congrats to all who were promoted!

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

Two games, as usual, were played this week with both being filled with immense amounts of triumph, defeat, and beef. Morning RoW was filled with several 100 roll's, as navidnn, Nick_Builder, and EMULATOR all rolled a 100. ItsThorn was the lucky loser, but would not be denied from playing in the finals, as he was revived just before the final mini game: ice boat race. And for Thorn, everything seemed to click as he took home the first win of the day! Later on, Devereux hosted an intense game of RoW which wound up going down to a winner-take-all final game of Hide & Seek. Contestants had to search through all 20 warps of the Pern memorial world. Dev hid well, but in the end Sir_Billiam was able to find Dev and take home a definitive 1st place.

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: ItsThorn
2nd place: BrendaxNL
3rd place: JohnBarry99
Lucky Loser: ItsThorn
Host: bugsy12

Late RoW:
1st place: Sir_Billiam
2nd place: N/A
3rd place: N/A
Host:
Devereux

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

ToF again took place this week on two separate occasions, but this time with different themes. The morning theme, hosted by evzntv, was SentinelCraft within the last 6 months. Early on, SweatyKido1 took a surprising lead and did well to start off the game. But unfortunately for him, he was no match to bugsy12. Despite joining late, she caught up fast and won the morning event. Later in the day, Bugsy hosted Greek & Roman Mythology trivia. With the power of sponges, JeffEatsPie won the game. This marked Jeff's first win in ToF.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: bugsy12
2nd place: SweatyKido1
3rd place: ItsThorn
Host: evzntv

Late ToF:
1st place: JeffEatsPie
2nd place: ComCoffee9987
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: bugsy12

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

Bungee is almost here! I for one, am very excited to play on Bungee and try some of the new features that are coming to the server. But it is of the utmost importance, to log your homes! You have until the 25th to do so, and doing this will allow you to keep your /homes safe. I can speak for all of the staff team when I say we would really appreciate everyone to do this so that there are minimal issues with /homes! The link to do so is here: https://forms.gle/cddqSAGE5uht6cah6

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here next week

WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 7-5-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Lets get into the week!!

DEVELOPMENT DIARIES

These diaries detail the transition to Bungee for SentinelCraft

This week, Oplegoman and the entire staff team released the 6th installment of the development diaries. This diary covered three main topics dealing with the server's imminent future. First was the progress report on what is done. Things that are now done include of the new chat system, as well as current vital plugins like LWC and LogBlock working as they currently do. Next discussed the future of maps and the issues at hand with those. Lastly, was the status of Minecraft 1.17 on SentinelCraft. With these three big talking points, this development diary is a must read and I encourage that all of you read this.

SENTINELCRAFT MEMORY LANE

A brand new series covering the past of SentinelCraft!

Earlier this week, migas94 introduced a brand new series called "SentinelCraft Memory Lane". This new series looks back at some of the influential players here at SentinelCraft. The first installment covered current admin xXCRYMINALXx, the first ever moderator Tenloe32, and our beloved founder Fedgar_Lurch. Rather than read a summary of it, you should go take a look at this wonderful new series!

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

quazymoodo: From Donator to Special

Congrats to all who were promoted!

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

RoW returned with two brand new beef-filled games. The early edition started with Francias becoming the Lucky Loser. Other highlights include, evzntv somehow managing to be revived twice (once through rolling a 100), as well as bugsy12 dying early alongside Francias. The finals were determined by a game of spleef. Unfortunately for oozma, the other 4 participants were all from Faygo Dreams as they worked to eliminate him. In the end, mindtwisty was able to secure the victory. The late RoW resulted in more beef, as JohnBarry99 was killed by evzntv, marking the first time Barry was slained in RoW in quite some time! The finals were determined by a game of hide & seek where Etspiritu took home the win. This marked the first time that silver donators have swept the day in RoW!

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: mindtwisty
2nd place: darksoul0987
3rd place: evzntv
Lucky Loser: Francias
Host: Devereux

Late RoW:
1st place: Etspiritu
2nd place: Blok3y
3rd place: JeffEatsPie
Lucky Loser: hajkido
Host:
bugsy12

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

ToF returned with two games filled with Spongebob Squarepants questions, as this was the theme for this week. The early game started as a dual battle between bugsy12 and swordsmancs. Eventually, bugsy would pull away and get the victory. Late ToF took place with Etspiritu and  a drunk evzntv taking turns answering questions correctly. In the end, the alcohol was too much as Nead was able to pull away with a victory by a margin of 4 points.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: bugsy12
2nd place: swordsmancs
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: evzntv

Late ToF:
1st place: Etspiritu
2nd place: evzntv
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: bugsy12

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

For this week's note, I'd like to give a special shoutout to Elisthetic. You may wonder why I have her name as blue, but it is no accident. She has elected to step down from Builder to focus on her career. For years Eli has wowed the community with her builds and has made a huge difference for the overall quality of SentinelCraft. I'm sure I can speak for a lot of people when I say that we are all thankful and appreciative of her services over the years and that it will be weird to see her on the server not under the "Special" rank. Thankfully she will still be around, which personally, makes me happy as I consider her a good friend :). Shoutout to Eli!

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here next week

SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 6-19-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Lets get into the week!!

SENTINEL SASUKE!

A brand new event is coming to SentinelCraft, adding to the stacked schedule of server events.

Coming this July, a new event hosted by evzntv called Sentinel Sasuke will take place on SentinelCraft. Sentinel Sasuke is a timed-parkour obstacle course with four brutal stages where contestants will need to stay out of the lava to achieve total victory! This event is mirrored off of the yearly competition in Japan under the same name. More recently, the yearly competition has expanded into America under the name "American Ninja Warrior". Sentinel Sasuke will focus more on speed and balance, as upper body strength is obviously not a factor. The grand prize for anyone who defeats all 4 stages? $150,000 and tons of pride! More information will be revealed about this event at a later date. For now though, get to training!

THE SENTINELCAST

A tentative date has been set for the first episode!

The SentinelCast is finally here, and has a release date! As of now, the first episode of the SentinelCast will air via the SentinelCraft YouTube channel on Friday, July 2nd. The episode features evzntv discussing prom hours before the big event with special guests, Oplegoman, FafaKuku, SweatyKido1, and Nick Builder. The panel discusses their backstories as well as predictions for prom's big events. Did the panel guess the prom event winners correctly? Tune in to find out!

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

Weekend Observations might have taken a break, but the beef never stopped in our weekly Roll on Wednesday event. The morning tournament hosted by bugsy12, started off with Francias becoming the lucky loser. The field was then chopped one by one as it got down to the final 4 in a game of spleef. The competitors fought hard, but had no chance against Blok3y who swept away everyone by standing in a corner. Bloke was indeed NOT OS PIT. Late RoW was a bit more beefy. Highlights included AceAlmighty16 getting lucky loser, bugsy12 killing her husband MHGUForPresident. What might be the biggest highlight of all, came in the form of the final mini-game. After a game of Skribbio, a long awaited winner was decided. Aatif , after months of humiliation and killings, finally secured a hard-earned RoW victory!

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: Blok3y
2nd place: oozma
3rd place: Francias
Lucky Loser: Francias
Host: bugsy12

Late RoW:
1st place: Aatif
2nd place: MHGUForPresident
3rd place: evzntv
Lucky Loser: AceAlmighty16
Host:
Devereux

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

ToF returned for another week, this time with a very special theme of Potpourri. The early ToF hosted by evzntv, was a special one due to his birthday falling on the same day. Early in the competition Francias dominated several of the science related questions, though ItsThorn and BrendaxNL would catch up making it close. Though with the game being so close, ev ran out of questions with Francias winning the game with 9 points, along with a special $20,000 prize! The late ToF was hosted by bugsy12. Early on, swordsmancs took a comfortable lead with Blok3y also scoring the occasional points. The noob, Baked_Tater came back with a vengeance, scoring all the way up to 9 points! Swords determined he was not going to be defeated and took home the ToF victory. With these wins by Francias and Swords, this marks the first time in 2 months that either evzntv or quazymoodo did NOT win a ToF in the week.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: Francias
2nd place: BrendaxNL
3rd place: ItsThorn
Host: evzntv

Late ToF:
1st place: swordsmancs
2nd place: Baked_Tater
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: bugsy12

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

I do apologize for the lack of Weekend Observations over the past month. Things have gotten much busier on my end, and as the saying goes: "Life happens". This upcoming week, I will be on vacation so there will be no Weekend Observations next week. The week after, however, I plan to return with a brand new WO in 2 weeks, with weekly editions after that. I will see you all then!

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here in 2 weeks!

PROM!!!

Finally!!!!!!!!!!

This past week was a big one for many in SentinelCraft with the official announcement of the prom date! The lovely Brenda has revealed that SentinelCraft's 8th Prom will be on Saturday, May 29th at 11 AM ET, 3 PM GMT, & 1 AM AEST. This years prom like all others will be filled with several Minigames and activities, only this time they will take place starting May 21st. Per the official scheduling, the following Minigames will be played on these days:

May 21st: ShipRunner
May 22nd: ShipRunner, McGo
May 23rd: McGo, Skribbl
May 24th: Mob Arena Party
May 25th: Boat Race
May 26th: RoW
May 27th: RoW, Archery
May 28th: Archery, ToF

As you can see Prom is absolutely STACKED with Minigames for all to play. Minigames aren't the only focus of prom, however. The Prom LoveLetter competition is also at play. This is where SentinelCraft couples can profess their love for one another (or all of their darkest secrets o.o). The winners of both this competition, and the SentinelCraft Awards will be announced on the day of prom. As the biased journalist that people think I am (cough Joe), I highly encourage everyone to participate in these prom festivities at some point. It's a fun way to get involved with our great community and it truly is the event of all events.

DEVELOPMENT DIARIES

The development diaries are back!

After a 2 week hiatus, the development diaries are back! MHGUForPresident led the charge of writing this diary, with some editing assistance from evzntv. This particular diary covers both the Home Transfer procedure and changes to Auction House. Of all of the development diaries so far, this might be the most important yet. Be sure to give this article a read whenever you can.

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

Sir_Billiam: From Member to Donator

Congrats to all who were promoted!

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

This week's RoW was quite bugly but still full of B E E F. Morning RoW started off with a surprising return as Demoncrusher returned from hiatus. That didn't spare him from the mighty RoW gods as Demon became this week's lucky loser. Other notable highlights include JoeArmageddon killing SweatyKido1 (who would later be revived), evzntv killing his own town member Knofz, and ItsThorn being revived and killed multiple times. The finals for morning RoW was once again Spleef. After the lag-out of SweatyKido1, the finals came down to darksoul0987 and nikola99. In the end, darksoul would avenge his 2nd place finish from last week to pick up his victory! Late RoW began with Aftaab becoming the lucky loser. Other highlights included Devereux mercissly killing JeffEatsPie and Etspiritu killing MHGUForPresident for drinking decaf coffee (Moog would later be revived towards the end). The finals for late RoW was a team boat race, where the team of evzntv and Etspiritu breezed past the competition for the win! However, only one could take home the illustrious victory. In the end, evzntv was crowned the winner marking his 3rd consecutive late RoW victory!

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: darksoul0987
2nd place: nikola99
3rd place: SweatyKido1
Lucky Loser: Oddstone
Host: bugsy12

Late RoW:
1st place: evzntv
2nd place: Etspiritu
3rd place: MHGUForPresident
Lucky Loser: MHGUForPresident

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

Another dual-installment of ToF occurred with an early and late event. The morning event's theme was once again Disney. The entire game was controlled by evzntv, with his lightning fast reaction time and Disney knowledge. Ev took home the early victory by an impressive 6 point margin in one of the fastest ToF games of all time. Ev would return to hosting duties for late trivia, as the theme was Classic Movies. Trivia master quazymoodo came out of the gate strong scoring several early points. Despite answering Napoleon Bonaparte for one the questions, bugsy12 would eventually join the game, making it a shootout for the win! Quazy would eventually win the game by just a mere 1 point as he took his 2nd consecutive ToF win.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: evzntv
2nd place: ItsThorn
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: bugsy12

Late ToF:
1st place: quazymoodo
2nd place: bugsy12
3rd place: CasualWaffle
Host: evzntv

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

PROM is finally here! With this huge event, I will have several things as both Moderator and Journalist that I'll have to prepare for. This means that next week, there will be no Weekend Observations. This will be to prepare for Prom's events and the eventual PROM WO (which will be an amazing article). Weekend Observations will make its return Monday, May 31st. Don't be alarmed though, there will still be some journalism next week. Stay tuned to find out  :O

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again Monday, March 31st!

SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 5-10-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Lets get into the week!!

CAMPAIGNS

This weeks featured story deals with a certain campaign for SentinelCraft's most infamous award.

As a lot of you know by now the SentinelCraft awards are LIVE and voting is still underway! But for a lot of people (including myself), it's hard to determine who the best nominee for each award really is. It's why I have decided to go in-depth and spark up campaigns for the most prestigious award that SentinelCraft has to offer. That, of course, is the most ANNOYING PLAYER award. The most annoying player award, is the player who is just that: the most annoying. The winner of this award will receive a 72-hour mute as well as a get out of mute free card. With these huge prizes on the line, I had to get more information on who really should win this award. I wanted to know who would campaign the hardest!

I messaged all nominees one simple question: Why should you be the "most annoying player?"

Unfortunately, only 4 of the nominees could be reached for comment. Here's the responses:

Aatif: To be honest I like to joke or tease people a lot and maybe some don't like it and find it annoying. And I can be a spammy person HAHA so maybe because of that :P

SweatyKido1: Because im the most annoying player. Several people have told me that im annoying (whispers) its just a matter of time till i win and get my well earned mute just sayin

AceAlmighty16: I think I should win the most annoying player award because let?s face it, I?m pretty annoying but in all seriousness I have been on that list for a running three years and I have come in 2nd place the last two years. It would also be cool to see if they will go through on a mute. I have some serious competition tho but I?m sure I will win this year.

Mr_RS_: At first, when I got nominated for the annoying list (years ago), I was mentally depressed and I was expressing my feelings to my friends about how they think I'm annoying. Over time, I began to think that being annoying is kind of a skill that every friendship should have. If a person is sad, annoying is the way that can pull him up from the darkness. Even tho he will be angry that you were annoying, you will be happy that he isn't sad anymore. And that's what I thought of. If I win the annoying list, it means that I can make someone happy when they are depressed. That's what makes me happy :)

As you can see, being annoying isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes being annoying can work in your favor! Now that the nominees have campaigned, it's your turn to vote. You can click this link: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10367.msg58442;topicseen#new to vote.

PACMAN

The Hosters are back with a brand new event!

The Hosters are back once again, this time with a unique twist on a classic game. EMULATOR announced this week that players can now play Pacman! After hearing this wonderful idea, I had to interview BEEMU to get more information on this story. Here's what everyone's favorite Bee had to say.

Ev: The newest Hosters event is very original and seems like a lot of fun. How did you and the Hosters come up with it?

EMU: Pacman is a game we all have heard and we all love. When I joined the hosters I was eager to do an event and I came up with Pacman in Minecraft. I discussed this idea with a few other hosters and decided to add few twists to it. The inspiration behind the idea came from a Reddit post and with the help of my fellow hosters i was able to make it into an actual game(edited)

Ev: That's awesome. What's the easiest way to summarize how the game works in a few sentences?

EMU: There are wool blocks scattered in a maze, you have to collect the wool blocks as they count as your  points before the ghost (which is me) hunts you. The player only gets 3 lives and has to collect as many points as they can but there is also a timer. I have also added a twist which is simple powerups scattered in the map which helps the player get a better chance to win

Ev: Neat! What do you think the most challenging aspect of this game will be for players?

EMU: That would be the pvp against the host, As the player does start weaker than the ghost but has to get powerups to be strong enough to fight the ghost.

Ev: Seems like a lot of fun to play. I'll have to check it out. Who's your money on for winning the event?

EMU: Hmm I can't say much now though i will have to agree both thorns and bugsy played amazing. If i had to put money on one it might be buggo

Ev: What a simp. jk jk thanks beemu. great work!

EMU: Lol Thanks for covering my small event though there are gonna be way more events with hosters

For more information on The Hosters' new event, you can click this link: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10381.msg58470;topicseen#new

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

TommyFengster: From Donator to Donator

Congrats to all who were promoted!

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

The only way that can RoW can be described this week is "BLOKE OS PIT". That and, of course, BEEFFFFF. Early RoW started out with the bottom 3 getting eliminated, with Oddstone becoming the official lucky loser. Other highlights from this game included the killing of evzntv (breaking his 4 straight finals appearances), the revival of ItsThorn; killing mindtwisty and Aatif, and the eventual revival of Oddstone. The early RoW finals were conducted by a game of Spleef. In a rather effortless performance, Oddstone would go on to win the event! This marked the first winner/lucky loser combination in quite some time! Late RoW consisted of the same spiciness with MHGUForPresident becoming lucky loser again. Other highlights included Blok3y turning into Brok3y, evzntv and bugsy12 killing each other and getting revived, and Devereux killing Silver_Dragoon1 and Talonchiavari1 in one fell swoop. The finals were conducted with a game of SentinelCraft trivia. Bug would take a commanding lead but her drunkenness cost her, as Ev secured his 2nd straight late RoW victory!

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: Oddstone
2nd place: darksoul0987
3rd place: PaulinaCarrot
Lucky Loser: Oddstone
Host: Devereux

Late RoW:
1st place: evzntv
2nd place: bugsy12
3rd place: quazymoodo
Lucky Loser: MHGUForPresident
Host:
Devereux

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

ToF once again held two events this past Friday. The theme for both events were "OG CARTOONS". evzntv hosted the first game with a huge turnout of 14 people! The game was quite competitive with Blok3y, JoeArmageddon, Aatif, and oozma all scoring a fair amount of points. In the end, no-one could stop Etspiritu as he took the early victory. Late ToF was a different story, however, as bugsy12 cut the question times to just 10 seconds. This proved to be a detriment to many trivia regulars like Ev, Nead, and Bloke. This didn't stop quazymoodo from blazing through the competition, winning late ToF by an impressive 7 point margin!!!

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: Etspiritu
2nd place: Aatif
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: evzntv

Late ToF:
1st place: quazymoodo
2nd place: Etspiritu
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: bugsy12

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

Seeing the new Pacman event really made me admire how creative our great community is. From RoW, to ToF, to various other events, it's awesome to see how much creativity can be put into a Minecraft server. I encourage everyone to keep tapping into their creative sides and bring fresh and exciting ideas to SentinelCraft! After all creativity is one of the best things we have in this world. Be creative :).

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!
