SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 5-3-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. I apologize for this edition being a day late, as school has been quite the pain with finals week. Nonetheless, lets get into the week!!

7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

This past week, CodeJoel celebrated his 7th year on SentinelCraft by hosting a drop party at his town CODE. Known primarily for his mayorship of CODE, dominating McMMO, and killing pigmen, Joel isn't necessarily known for being the most talkative person. This didn't deter him, however, from sitting down for an exclusive interview. Here's what Joel had to say:

Ev: Congratulations on 7 years on SentinelCraft! How did you feel this years drop party went?

Joel: This years turnout was great! Never seen that many people join, in years! It's been like a tradition of mine to host it every year when I hit a milestone

Ev: It's a very cool tradition! Though I'm curious, why still diamonds for the main drop item? I know CODE's got the money for netherite now XD

Joel: I like diamonds, what can I say! I'm pretty much known for that, so I'm keeping the tradition of mainly dropping diamonds at the drop parties I host once in a while

Ev: You've been on Sentinel for 7 years, a feat that very few have achieved. Whats drawn you into staying all of these years?

Joel: One word, community. This server has the best community and that's why I've been around so long. Keeps me motivated to come online even when I'm not feeling like playing Minecraft, I still come online and chat with people

Ev: I definitely relate and agree with both of what you said. My final question is this: Whats in the future for you? Maybe another 7 years in Sentinel, perhaps?

Joel: Definitely  And what's in the future for me? Continuing playing on the server, grinding pigmen and always trying improving Code like always.

Ev: Great stuff. Thanks for the interview Joel!

Joel: Thanks for having me :)

Congratulations to Joel on an impressive 7 years at SentinelCraft!

SENTINELCRAFT AWARDS

Each year at SentinelCraft, May is filled with several annual traditions, one of which being the SentinelCraft Awards. The SentinelCraft Awards is comprised of 11 separate categories with 5 nominees each. Notable categories from this year's choices are Most dedicated player, Most annoying player, and my personal favorite: Best Server Slave. Votes will be accepted on this for the next two weeks. For more information on the SentinelCraft Awards, visit this thread: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10367

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

CasualWaffle: From Donator to Donator (Maxed out at $250)
MartisContatio: From Donator to Donator
Talonchaivari1: From Member to Donator
XzarWizrobe: From Member to Senior Member

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

Another week here at SentinelCraft, calls for another Wednesday filled with BEEF. Morning RoW was filled with it as the game began with JoeArmageddon taking home lucky loser. The spiciness continued with Francias killing both bugsy12 and PaulinaCarrot, along with himself. Eventually Knofz was able to revive 5 players including bugsy12, EMULATOR, and Noob_Tater. The finals were conducted via an on foot ice race with PvP allowed!. EMU would get long awaited revenge on bug for this race, taking out both of them. In the end, Brenda was able to take home the victory. Late RoW began with Francias hilariously becoming lucky loser for the second week in a row. However, he'd eventually be revived twice in order to make a finals appearance. Other notable events throughout the game was Blok3y and oozma committing a staff purge, taking out Mods MHGUForPresident and evzntv, and the revival of someone from each nation (HeLiX_is_Beta from Imperium; evzntv from Shadow Realm). The finals were determined by a team boat race on ice. The sexy team, Francias and evzntv took the victory, but only one could win. After a sudden death roll-off, Ev scored his first RoW victory!

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: BrendaxNL
2nd place: jonahhd95
3rd place: JoeArmageddon
Lucky Loser: JoeArmageddon
Host: Devereux

Late RoW:
1st place: evzntv
2nd place: Francias
3rd place: Talonchaivari1
Lucky Loser: Francias
Host:
bugsy12

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

Trivia on Friday saw 2 events in the brand new venue at spawn, hosted by bugsy12 and evzntv respectively. The theme for Early ToF was iconic tv sitcoms, with the questions mainly based around The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Friends. Out of the gate, evzntv and Noob_Tater answered several questions correctly, but both faded as the game went on. JoeArmageddon would join late and eventually tie with Googl3y. The two would settle the tie via a boat race, where JoeArmageddon took the win! Late ToF was a bit less crowded, but still held a lot of fun for the players. The theme was ALL iconic tv sitcoms, even animated ones. bugsy12 dominated the competition, but was eventually frozen by ninja5132 after she answered a question correctly. Despite the freezing, bug would take home the win in a dominant fashion.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: JoeArmageddon
2nd place: Blok3y
3rd place: evzntv
Host: bugsy12

Late ToF:
1st place: bugsy12
2nd place: Blok3y
3rd place: ninja5132
Host: evzntv

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

This week's edition was delayed due to my finals week here at school. I again apologize if there's any inconvenience based off of that. With that being said, this time of year can be busy for a lot of people due to final exams/presentations. If you are one of those people like me, then I wish you the best of luck on whatever finals you have! There is a light at the end of this finals tunnel, and that is summer! That means hopefully more SentinelCraft for all of us :).

Thanks to EMULATOR and bugsy12 for their reporting this week!

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!

WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 4-25-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Lets get into the week!!

TOWN SPOTLIGHT

For the month of April we focus on one town each week as a part of "Town Spotlight". This week's Town Spotlight focuses on Faygo Dreams, a fast rising town in SentinelCraft

Faygo Dreams was originally founded by evzntv in September 2019. The town was originally under the name Neverland and was designed to be a small town with ev and his IRL friends. Eventually, however, life struck and every member of the town moved on to other things. In January 2021, evzntv made the decision to come back to SentinelCraft and the first day he came back, he re-claimed the lost town under the name "The Kingdom". This name lasted until the death of rising rap artist 6 Dogs, one of ev's favorite rappers. His favorite song by 6 Dogs was Faygo Dreams, hence the name it still holds today.

The town started as a re-claiming project, as the town held a few houses and a semi automatic farm. Eventually SteezyMac, ev's roommate and Ncanaydin would join the town and help re-build and improve from its former state. Around early March construction began on "The Faygo Times", the official building for Weekend Observations as well as the town's spawn. The building was completed in late March, right around the time head architect Domi joined the town. After the completion of town spawn, new members began to join the town, including MrZatox and darksoul0987. Throughout the last month, the town has grown tremendously with 25 residents at the time of this writing. The town also began to take on staff with darksoul0987 as co-mayor and MrZatox/XzarWizrobe as assistants. A new town farm, super smelter, nether portal , and end portal were added as notable amenities.

Going forward, Faygo Dreams' plan is to continue to grow with amenities and size. The current plan is to have a full fledged shopping district as well as a tree and animal farm for its residents to use. They hope to also grow to around 32-35 members and be a "forever town" for rising players on SentinelCraft.

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

evzntv: From Special to Moderator
Francias: From Donator to Special

I decided to sit down with our newest Sexy Special for an exclusive interview!

Ev: Congrats on special! What prompted you to apply for it?

Francias: Thanks! I have been a builder since I have been a member of the community, I even took part in helping some of the server projects! I wanted to extend my horizons and Special Rank is the perfect way to do just that (Im keeping this smol since its WO cant be making essays lmao).

Ev: So what are your particular plans with this new Builder/Special rank, is there anything concrete planned at the moment for you?

Francias: Ooooh spilling some beans?? Kidding, I might get demoted LMAO. In terms of server stuff, I cant leak that but there are stuff in the works! On a more personal note, I have my own shop in gotham that just so happened to take building commissions! It's not open yet though but feel free to stop by~ #IVYIMPORIUM VISIT ME<33

Ev: Already taking advertisements and you just got promoted

Francias: >:(

Ev: Who has been the biggest inspiration to you as far as your building?

Francias: I have had alot of stuff that motivated me to build, though in terms of inspiration there can only be my kween eli <3 she builds in such an eye catching and unique way that you can tell which builds she made~ She even teaches me herself and damn those are good things she taught me <33 All in all you could say she's my idol, though I wont say that to her face :PP

Ev: Shoutout to ELI! My last question for you deals with your actual promotion itself. Your promotion prank to Special was one of the funnier ones in recent memory. Detail everyone as to what happened with that. What was your reaction?

Francias: OOOOH THAT WAS TRAUMATIZING I THINK THAT WAS MORE STRESSFUL THAN THE APP ITSELF! It was just some normal day then suddenly I got leaked of my bad behaviour?? Eli told me that she was upset at me (I would die if this was serious) and that I did something awful?? I was speechless at the time then brenda said SPEAK AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN IM GRAY. It was just "I cant believe you did this" and "Im disappointed in you". I was shaking in my seat and I didnt even know what I did wrong ;-; I love staff and all that but DAMNIT

Ev: HAHA, they did get you good. But a promotion well-deserved in my eyes. Thanks for your time Franco

Congrats to all who were promoted!

DEVELOPMENT DIARIES

These diaries detail the transition to Bungee for SentinelCraft.

This week's development diary was written by MHGUForPresident. In it contained important information regarding to homes. Other relevant information includes future Skyblock plans as well as prompting feedback from the community. The full diary can be found here: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10357.msg58318;topicseen#new

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

As per usual, RoW was held on Wednesday. Both events were filled with triumph, agony, and BEEF. Early RoW's first casualty was ItsThorn as he became the lucky loser. Notable highlights included Baked_Tater getting a very nice revive (hehe) and MHGUForPresident getting revived only to a roll a 4 the next round and return to his death. At least for Moog, he didn't get lucky loser for a record breaking 4th week in a row. The finals of morning RoW was a good ol' fashioned boat-race, with spectators allowed to block the path of contestants. In the end Google Master and Egg Wiz, Blok3y took the victory. Late RoW was a bit less crowded, but still lots of fun. Fireworks went off for Francias following his promotion to Special. It didn't fare well with him for RoW, however, as he was late RoW's lucky loser. Franco would then get his revenge, killing power couple bugsy12 and MHGUForPresident in one fell swoop! Devereux also introduced a "card" rule where if 3 people said the word CARD after an elimination, that the player being eliminated was saved. This worked in the favor of evzntv as he was saved following an unlucky roll. The finals of late RoW were determined by the dreaded maze. Etspiritu took home the victory.

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: Blok3y
2nd place: evzntv
3rd place: oozma
Lucky Loser: ItsThorn
Host: bugsy12

Late RoW:
1st place: Etspiritu
2nd place: Aatif
3rd place: RoyalBluePup
Lucky Loser: Francias
Host:
Devereux

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

Trivia on Friday saw its new venue being used for the first time! A new pod style room was introduced with a working scoreboard for participants. It's certainly a neat idea and its worth checking out! For both ToF's, the theme was DC Comics. Early on, evzntv continued his momentum coming out of the gate strong. He lost some steam, however, to Devereux as he wound up climbing all the way to a tie. The battle of Ev vs Dev, came down to one final question as Devereux secured the victory. Late ToF was hosted by MHGUForPresident. With only 7-8 competitors, ninja5132 had a menacing presence, as if she answered any questions, 2 points would be awarded to someone else at random. In the end, Baked_Tater took home the victory.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: Devereux
2nd place: evzntv
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: bugsy12

Late ToF:
1st place: Baked_Tater
2nd place: xendetic
3rd place: Blok3y
Host: MHGUForPresident

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support following my promotion to Moderator. I cannot understate how important the support has been from our great community. From the moment I arrived in SentinelCraft in 2019, I had the idea of staffing yet again in the future. It wasn't until February of this year where I really decided to give it a try. Despite not being accepted my first application, I put in some hard work to increase my chances, and here we are today. Let this be a reminder that you too can achieve your goals. Find something that drives you and go for it, whether it be in-game or in your own personal lives. You all are wonderful and great people :). Let this be known, however, I am NOT abandoning my journalist position. If anything, that will only continue to grow, and I hope to share some details of that really soon.

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!

SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 4-18-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Lets get into the week!!

TOWN SPOTLIGHT

For the month of April we focus on one town each week as a part of "Town Spotlight". This week's Town Spotlight focuses on Gotham, the most popular town on SentinelCraft.

Gotham was a town created by former Senior Admin, ninja5132 on June 30th, 2019. The town was established after her former town in Pern (Mirlaz), and held a decorated town staff with players such as bugsy12, AceAlmighty16, and Creepy_Crawlers (ew). The town immediately burst onto the scene peaking at about 25 residents. However, as life progressed for many of its residents, the town began to die down. The mayorship of the town was transferred to Bugsy in early 2020 after closing its doors to the public. Gotham then re-emerged better than ever before in summer of 2020, adding MHGUForPresident as a co-mayor and adding on several amenities such as the largest crop farm in all of SentinelCraft. Recently, Gotham has surged past CODE as the largest town in the entire server with 42 members at the time of this writing. The town also added notable assistants such as Loulou, ItsThorn, and Artisin_ and received help from players like JeffEatsPie and xXCRYMINALXx. In just a simple sentence, Gotham strives to be both "inclusive" and "helpful"

To get more of a glimpse as to what Gotham is really like, I sat down with the lovely mayor of Gotham, bugsy12 for an exclusive interview.

Ev: Recently Gotham has peaked way past all of the other towns with over 40 residents. Why did you guys take such a heavy recruiting approach?

Bug: Honestly I felt like i didn't try that hard, we really just left the town open. Some of my town members did actively recruit though which definitely helped. I have since closed the town so that invites are required. Mostly because if the town grows too big we have to make room for all those players and its not likely they will stay (its sad but its true). Also I don't think I could handle more than 50 players in my town at a time, I'd rather they join a different town and could be more included in the community there.

Ev: You mentioned that you weren't always the mayor of Gotham, what was it like finally becoming mayor and how has being a mayor impacted you?

Bug: Hahaha uh basically what happened was, I had to keep messaging ninja to get on to do different town stuff that only mayor could do, and she logged on one day and just gave me mayor and was like "stop bugging me". Honestly didn't think I'd like it, ninja was always supposed to be the one who ran the town and I just did the building. I really enjoy it though, it's nice finally seeing the town come alive after working on it for so long.

Ev: Whats Gotham's future looking like? Any big builds or plans?

Bug: Oh I have no shortage of ideas. I have a few more shops to make (I'm getting to you Oli and Aatif!) Also planning on doing a small set of mob farms. I've always wanted to do a series of villain caves hidden throughout Gotham but it always seems to get pushed to the end of my list.  Hopefully this summer will be productive

BUT WAIT THERES MORE!

I also got a hold of the founder of Gotham, ninja5132 for an exclusive interview. Here's what she had to say.

Ev:What was your original vision for Gotham?

Ninja: Oh probably something similar to Mirlaz ,a new-player friendly town with lots of resources A starter town but also a forever town.

Ev: What was the one thing you were most proud of while you were mayor?

Ninja: When i was mayor i think we were still in early development stages. i was very proud of the Tree farm and the street organization

Ev: What went into the decision of relinquishing the mayorship of Gotham to Bugsy?

Ninja: Was just busy with personal life, she was making a lot of decisions already and did most of the work, didn't make sense to stay mayor

Ev: How proud are you of both bugs as a mayor and the rest of the Gotham staff for making the town what it is today?

Ninja: Extremely proud, I never expected Gotham to become the beautiful and active community it's become.

I will be the first to say that SentinelCraft would not be the same without Gotham. As someone who got their start at Gotham, it's a very essential and important part of SentinelCraft that can't go unnoticed. Big props to everyone at Gotham for making their community as wonderful as it is. Thanks to both bugs and ninja for also sharing their intel on this as well :) .

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

darksoul0987: From Member to Donator
oozma: From Member to Donator

Congrats to all who were promoted!

DEVELOPMENT DIARIES

These diaries detail the transition to Bungee for SentinelCraft.

Another week, another diary. The lego man that is OP once again released another development diary explaining the return of Skyblock in full detail. The notable part of this is total reset of the Skyblock world for all players. Other changes such as the official introduction of Clan Chat and other transfers have been formally announced. To read the diary in full detail, visit this thread: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10348

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

RoW this week was filled with great fun and beef tougher than a $2 steak. Morning RoW started off with MHGUForPresident scoring the lucky loser title for an astonishing 3rd week in a row! The game progressed further with Joelle454 killing Oplegoman, risking a demotion in the process. Oli, however, was revived and eventually went on to finish in 2nd place. NickBuilder and nikola99 also elected to double kill darksoul0987 and evzntv, killing off Faygo Dreams in one fell swoop. The finals of early RoW were determined by a game of Spleef, as nikola99 went on to take the victory for the second week in a row! (pardon the pun). Late RoW was once again a record breaking one, as it was so long that Devereux decided to leave and transfer the hosting to bugs after 1 hour and 15 minutes of playing. Highlights of this round included the killing/revival of ninja5132, the uno-reverse powers of evzntv, and "revival steaks" to fill out the finals, as the original finalists had to leave. The finals were determined by an archery race, as Etspiritu easily breezed through the competition for a RoW victory.

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: nikola99
2nd place: Oplegoman
3rd place: Joelle454
Lucky Loser: MHGUForPresident
Host: bugsy12

Late RoW:
1st place: Etspiritu
2nd place: bugsy12
3rd place: CasualWaffle & evzntv
Lucky Loser: Arianity
Host:
Devereux

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

Trivia on Friday was unique in the sense that NotAWesternSpy was unavailable to host this week's morning event. Taking the place of NotAWesternSpy this week was the sexy guest host evzntv. The categories (yes, categories) for morning ToF were 00's music and World History. The morning competition seemed to be one of the tougher ToF's in recent memory as contestants struggled to answer questions. In the end Googl3y Blok3y was able to secure his first ToF win. Evening ToF was hosted by bugsy12 with themes of 00's music and Pokemon. Out of the gate evzntv took a commanding lead with 5 points in the first 10 questions. Adversity struck, however, through MHGUForPresident kicking him, charactername111 answering a question that deducted 2 points off of his score, and a late comeback from the trivia wiz Etspiritu. Even through adversity, evzntv was still able to pick up the victory in the late ToF. This marked back to back wins for him, as well as becoming the first player ever to host and win a ToF in the same day.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: Blok3y
2nd place: Ncanaydin
3rd place: ItsThorn
Host: evzntv

Late ToF:
1st place: evzntv
2nd place: Etspiritu
3rd place: Loulou
Host: bugsy12

Congratulations to the winners!

MOB CONTEST RESULTS

You may recall a few weeks back when I interviewed DanteVentura for "The Hosters" event: The Mob House building contest. These results were posted several weeks back and I simply missed them. I apologize for the late coverage on this event. With that being said, the contest saw a winner with MHGUForPresident and bugsy12 taking home the victory for their bee building. Congrats to bugs & Moog! The full results can be found at this thread: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10288.0

EDITOR'S NOTE

This week for me was not the best week. A number of things played into this, but it led to some lapses in judgment in my personal life. What I realized from this is that it was time for a step back in that situation. And sometimes, a step back is what you need to reset and reassess things correctly. So if you're struggling through something this week, it's okay to take a step back. Take a breath. You may realize after you take that breath, that you feel clearer and more open-minded.

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!

WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 4-11-2021

Welcome everyone to this edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Before we get into this week's edition, I'd like to thank everyone for the constant support on this project. Because of this, Weekend Observations now has its own board! This is a phenomenal accomplishment and I am very excited to see this happen. I really do appreciate it. Lets get into the week!

TOWN SPOTLIGHT

For the month of April we focus on one town each week as a part of "Town Spotlight". This week's Town Spotlight focuses on Lindon, a town that was abandoned this past week.

Lindon was a town created by banacat and EMULATOR on May 26th, 2020. The purpose of the town was originally designed to be a building project for both mayor banacat, and co-mayor EMULATOR, but later evolved into an actual town for Senior Members. Lindon's main block scheme was Quartz and Prismarine and had several amenities including the servers most complex super smelter amongst other things. The town eventually grew to around 10 residents, with 2 assistants (Joelolol and nmerki) as well as 2 architects (Spectr3 and naibogamer). Eventually in March 2021, EMULATOR took control of the mayorship of the town. But all good things must come to an end, and the town was disbanded this week.

As the curious journalist I am, I wondered what was the cause of a prominent town disbanding like this. But before I could even have the chance to reach out to anyone, EMULATOR reached out to me shortly following the disbanding of the town. So with this, I asked EMU a pair of questions about Lindon.

Ev: So what happened? Why is Lindon no longer in existence?

EMU: Well like many towns in Sentinels history most of the people went inactive and I decided it will be best to move on.

Ev: What are some of your best memories from Lindon?

EMU: Hmm there are many, from All the friendly banter in towny chat to every project and all the grind we did for the town, For example, the days we created a Guardian farm to the days when Sarge and General were part of this town these days were just filled with laughters and jokes.I also remember the constant fight between me and bread in the towny chat which  is one of the most fun memories that i experienced with the town.  Each and every moment are the best memories I will never forget.

So what happened to Lindon? The real answer of course is life just simply taking center stage. While Lindon never reached to the level of a "peak town", it was still a respectable town with several prominent members of the community. We wish all involved with Lindon the best in the future, and I thank EMULATOR for reaching out to share this great story with us. Rest In Peace, Lindon.

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

NotAWesternSpy: From Donator to Moderator
Eagler1997: From Donator to Special
Spectr3: From Donator to Donator
Artisin_: From Senior Member to Donator
Blok3y: From Senior Member to Donator
Loulou: From Member to Donator

The big news coming out of the promotions this week came with NotAWesternSpy being promoted to Moderator, the first of this promotion since January. To celebrate this important promotion, I chatted with NotAMod hours following his promotion on Friday.

Ev: I remember you were at one point a Moderator in 2019. What made you decide to apply for Moderator once again?

NotAMod: Since I became active again, I started to involve myself into the server matters more, i would use commands to weed out suspicious players and tried to moderate the chat if no staff were online. I felt that with my applying for the position I could do more and help staff more since a lot of them are busy with the current bungee system testing for the upcoming changes.

Ev: This is very true. Whenever you weren't going about your capitalistic ways, I'd see you always weed out someone suspicious. Lets now move to when you found out you were going to be promoted. How'd you find out, and what emotions went through your head when you found out you were being promoted?

NotAMod: Haha, being capitalistic is the way to go. I found out that I would get promoted at the of ToF this friday, I felt excited, happy, and restless for the future as I feel that I much more prepared now than I was 2 years ago.

Ev: Yep. It was definitely a wild time to be on the server this past Friday (even if it overshadowed my first ToF win >.>) My last question for you, is what are your goals for being a Moderator moving forward?

NotAMod: Well my first tasks would be to acclimate myself to the new position. I would be hunting for xrayers, keeping the peace and helping senior staff with the bungee server testing.

Congrats to all who were promoted!

DEVELOPMENT DIARIES

This past Friday, Oplegoman released the second development diary dealing with "Plugins". The article touched on both the plugin changes as well as progress of the current plugins in the Bungee form. Cross-server chatting, teleportation, and inventories have all been proven to work. The most notable change that was explained was the removal of town and nation chat due to it not working with the new system. This is currently expected to be replaced with "Clan Chat" at the time of this article. For the full article, please refer to this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10324.0

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

This week's RoW was once again eventful and contained more beef than a McDonalds Big Mac. Morning RoW was filled with the rivalry between Oplegoman and Oddstone as they took turns taking each other out. The devious host, bugsy12 then decided to eliminate all players who rolled an even number, taking out a good chunk of the field. In the end, a game of Spleef decided the morning RoW, with nikola99 scoring the impressive victory. The late RoW lasted just under an hour, setting a new regular RoW record. It was filled with bribery as Devereux often allowed whoever paid him the most money to kill mass amounts of people. The finals were determined by whoever could find Dev in Pern first. In the end, egg master Blok3y scored his first RoW victory taking home a staggering 90k. The real winner, however, was Devereux as he profited over 600k from bribes and RoW shenanigans.

Here are the results for this week's event!

Early RoW:
1st place: nikola99
2nd place: Aatif
3rd place: NotAWesternSpy
Lucky Loser: darksoul0987
Host: bugsy12

Late RoW:
1st place: Blok3y
2nd place: Francias
3rd place: hajkido
Lucky Loser: MHGUForPresident (again)
Host:
Devereux

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

Trivia on Friday was once again a gigantic event for a number of reasons. The theme this week was "Disney Movies". Early on evzntv dominated the competition with a quick 5 points. However, after falling asleep, many players including ItsThorn and Etspiritu scored several points. But in the end evzntv managed to wake back up and take his first ever TOF victory! In the late TOF, MHGUForPresident and Francias took turns answering questions correctly. 20 minutes in, Etspiritu joined in mid-game, leading to a way a 3 way tie at 6 points a piece. With MHGU having to leave,  the game became a battle between Francias and Etspiritu. Remiaw, however, mustered a huge comeback getting up to 7 points! In the end, Francias was able to prevail as he was declared the winner.

Perhaps the biggest news from ToF, however, was the promotion of NotAWesternSpy. After evzntv's victory, PaulinaCarrot took the podium and asked NotAWesternSpy if he could be her"lawfully wedded Moderator", to which NotA agreed.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: evzntv
2nd place: ItsThorn
3rd place: Etspiritu
Host: NotAWesternSpy

Late ToF:
1st place: Francias
2nd place: Etspiritu
3rd place: Remiaw
Host: bugsy12

Congratulations to the winners!

EDITOR'S NOTE

The editors note is typically intended to be something inspirational or motivating, and perhaps you can still find that in this week's note. But I had the privilege of being on at the same time as the mighty TheAncient1.

This was the result: https://imgur.com/fvhNmLE

Simply stunning.

Special thanks to bugsy12, ItsThorn, and EMULATOR for the additional reporting this week!

Weekly Observations / Weekend Observations: Edition #3

SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 4-4-2021

Welcome everyone to this Easter edition of Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Before we get into this week's edition, I'd like to address the situation with "Town Spotlight." If you read last week's edition, you would know that this week's featured story was supposed to be "Town Spotlight". However, there was some incredible breaking news over the last few days that was shared regarding the servers future. Because of this, "Town Spotlight" has been moved to next week's edition. Let's get into the week!

A BRIGHTER FUTURE

April 1st is often known as "April fools", a day full of jokes, pranks, and laughter. But here at SentinelCraft, April 1st was celebrated a tad bit differently. The exciting news was broken on Thursday that SentinelCraft will be going under some big changes!

It was announced by PaulinaCarrot that SentinelCraft going forward would be transitioning to a Minecraft network. The new Minecraft network would be facilitated through Bungeecord. According to the forum post, this was done  to allow "much more modulation" and to ensure that "lag is not shared across all worlds/servers". It was also revealed that this project had been taking place since the holidays and has been in development for some time. Certain new gameplay features were also announced, including increased render distance, claimable nether/end, and more. Other notable highlights from this post included the reaffirmation of the worlds NOT being reset and the announcement that development diaries would be released every so often.

This promise of development diaries being released periodically became true as Oplegoman released the first of many on Saturday. This diary focused on the "why" as the well "the setup" of SentinelCraft in the future. It was explained that the troubles that server had faced in 2020 had caused a direct effect on this change. Specifically mentioned was the demise of SkyBlock and Dynamap, with the forum stating this was "the straw that broke the camels back". It was decided that with this new network, the server would be expanding from 1 server, to 8 separate ones. The most notable server listed was "Server 5", revealing the return of SkyBlock to SentinelCraft.

FURTHER QUESTIONS

As both the journalist and member of the community, I like many others had questions about this new setup as well as where SentinelCraft is heading. I reached out to PaulinaCarrot for an interview, and she responded.

Ev: Why did you and the Senior staff decide to release this information at this current time rather than wait?

Pau: Because we felt we are at a comfortable stage to share the news. Bungee was no longer a theory, and april has always been a month of sharing news with Sentinelcraft which is why we went ahead and decided on it. Moreover going forward we  may require community feedback on certain removals or additions into the worlds and we can't keep it a secret for that purpose.

Ev: Speaking of Bungee, could you explain into further detail what Bungee is? (mainly for people like myself who are unfamiliar with it)

Pau: We are planning on releasing a development diary with more detail but simply put: Bungee is a network of servers, each running on its separate core but they are all linked with one another thanks to the plugins we will be using.
For comparison: our current server has 8 cores and only utilizes 1, meaning we're not using the full capacity of our hardware.

Ev: Wow, very cool. How important was it that this change be completed for the future of SentinelCraft?

Pau: Very important because it would be a fresh reset for the server set up instead of a reset for people. It could allow larger borders, newer plugins, better plugin management (we are running a few outdated things). It would hopefully be a permanent set up for SentinelCraft and allow more flexibility with bug fixes and the like (now we can just break 1 server and the rest will remain playable ;) )

Ev: I like how you mentioned it wouldn't be a reset for the people, just the server. Though I am curious, with this new setup, why was the decision made not to reset the entire server (including Horizon/Kattalox) ?

Pau: Well we would not make a decision like that without talking with the community first. We don't have any pressure to reset the current world, the old one was reset because of multiple chunks errors in the world as well the old author of Towny discontinued the plugin. I think too many have invested time into the current the world that they do not want to see it all vanish. Back then it was 1 world now it's 2 worlds and its double the size. Not to mention the minecraft drought happened shortly after, we are not interested in seeing the server turning to a ghost town and would rather keep the community we have and build on it. I'm sure many awesome people are still out there and haven't had the opportunity to stumble on sentinelcraft.

Ev: Great answer. I definitely agree it was the right call to keep the current worlds as is. My last question is for you as an Owner. This is easily the biggest project you've faced so far in your few months as Owner. What emotions do you have going into this new journey? Excited? Nervous?

Pau: Well it's definitely a constant challenge balancing current sentinel activity and future sentinel development. However I am not the only person working on it, I've successfully enslaved Oplegoman and Brenda to manage and organize things as it is their biggest strengths. I'm excited to see where things will go, and I trust that the entire staff have done and are doing their best with this project. Whetheir it is beta testing or fiddling with config I believe they're doing great at it. I hope the community will continue to have our back with changes or whatever feedback we request, in the end i'd be more nervous about that than the actual project. In my eyes the community will always come first.

Ev: I'm very excited to see the future of SentinelCraft and I know we as the community are in great hands! Thanks for your time, Pau

Pau: Thanks for the questions have fun

COMMUNITY FEEDBACK

In addition to reaching out to Pau, I reached out to members/staff of the community. I asked "What are you most looking forward to with the new changes coming to SentinelCraft?". Here are some responses:

MHGUForPresident: Honestly I?m most excited about the performance enhancements that will let players do and see more. Increased render distance and claimable end and nether are big things for me as a builder. As a mod I often see new players who have their bases in the nether or unclaimable areas which reminds me of the time where I had to move my whole base to a different dimension when I started, so giving players that option is huge

ItsThorn: Well, all these additions to an already great server has excited everyone I'm sure. Among the new things being offered, claiming the nether is quite a good opportunity to realise the many desires for a "nether base", however the new commands and donation perks certainly raised a brow, and is one of the things  I am most looking forward to!

Silver_Dragoon1: I'd say.. New donation perks for now. :)

Etspiritu: Well, for me it's the claimable nether and end. Once we're able to build there with grief protection, people can make things like nether highways or end bases and such.

bugsy12: I'm excited to see the nether themed builds players will make in the claimable nether, also excited for the extended render distance!

JoeArmageddon: The new server pattern is the thing that interests me the most as we will be getting more tps and a problem with one world will not interfere much with another world

Mr_RS_: Implementing new games maybe, I can't wait to check out new plugins and the new cluster of servers they implement over time

NotA: I am looking forward to everything, the most is probably to the multiple server system as that would allow for much smoother gameplay, also I look forward to the revamped donor perks and the new commands.

Blok3y: eggs

Francias: I'm really excited for the separate servers, more specifically that if Horizon crashes that Fedgardia and Kattalox could still run.

Baked_Tater: SKYBLOCK

As you can see, the community is very excited about all of the new changes. I personally am most excited about the increased render distance and a claimable nether. As someone who loves playing Towny (go Faygo Dreams!) this gives me more of a reason to branch out and start making claims. Kudos to everyone involved with this wonderful new project!

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

I would normally take the time to write an intro for this week's RoW, but ItsThorn quoted it best as RoW this week was "prickly". Prickly was definitely the right adjective to describe the morning RoW as at one point the entire server of 15 people were participating in this event. That meant that there was no shortage of BEEF.
Devereux (Dev) was creative on this April fools edition of RoW, as twists like uno-reverse card were put into play causing an exchange of killings between ItsThorn (Thorn) and Francias (Franco). In the end Thorn would prevail as he made it to the finals after PaulinaCarrot (Pau) got to handpick who participated in the boat race! This boat race like last week's was a team event with Pau & Ev, Bug & Thorn, and & oozma. The first two laps were a traditional boat race as Bug & Thorn took a good lead. However, Dev announced the last lap would be ran! This ended up in Pau showcasing her speed to get the victory. Late RoW was a bit less filled with beef as Dev was "shitting and lost track of time". Regardless late RoW turned out to be a fun but smaller sized event. Throughout the cycle of killings everyone was eventually brought back into the final game of "Spleef". In the end, 2nd time ever participant Loulou shocked the world with a victory!

After, the morning RoW I interviewed Thorn further as he said this was the most intense RoW he had ever played. I asked him why should players be interested in RoW? His response: "It pits everybody together in a very immersive game, regardless of rank or status. The server does an amazing job at promoting good will and it shows in RoW, where although plenty of beef is shared (Francias, I'm looking at you pal), it is an amazing opportunity to meet and have an amazing time with those around you!" As you can see RoW is a game with lots of fun as it a can't-miss each and every Wednesday. For more information on RoW, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=588.165

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

Trivia on Friday was once again a huge hit as this week's theme was "Marvel Cinematic Universe" (MCU) The early ToF was mostly dominated by JoeArmageddon as he answered questions faster than NotA collects souls. Aatif attempted to make a comeback with a strong 3 question run. However, he was no match for Joe as he took home the early victory. Late ToF was "amateur hour" as the participants struggled through most of the questions. But it was multiple time trivia champion, Etspiritu who took home the victory by an impressive 5 point margin.

Here are the results from ToF!

Early ToF:
1st place: JoeArmageddon
2nd place: Aatif
3rd place:  ItsThorn
Host: NotAWesternSpy

Late ToF:
1st place:  Etspiritu

Congratulations to the winners!

PROMOTIONS

As part of our weekly recap, it's important to recognize players who received a promotion! The following players received a promotion this week.

mindtwisty: From Member to Donator

Congratulations to all who were promoted!

EDITOR'S NOTE

As we go into this new journey together it's best to remember to be patient towards the entire staff team. We have to remember that while our lovely staff is here to serve and provide the best possible playing experience for the community, that they are real people too. As someone who has been on a staff team elsewhere many moons ago, it is very stressful to undergo such a big change that affects the future of the entire server. Let us all remember to be patient and kind to everyone working behind the scenes, and furthermore, provide encouragement and praise for their great efforts.

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!

SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 3-28-2021

Welcome everyone to Weekend Observations! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week. As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Let's get into the week!

THE RISE OF TOF!

For the last month, ToF has been a roaring success at SentinelCraft. For this week's featured story I sat down with the trivia man himself, NotAWesternSpy for an exclusive interview

Ev: What made you start ToF?

NotA: Well I started ToF rather accidentally, I was chatting with Pau (PaulinaCarrot) on the server and I mentioned I would look great in black (my name color) so she suggested I should apply for some sort of special position and she mentioned something about a trivia master position being open, so I decided to give it a try. The first runs on ToF were tough as I did not know what I was doing really but with each friday it kept getting better and I really fell in love with hosting this event.

Ev: Interesting. Do you have any background yourself regarding trivia? Any personal connection with it?

NotA: I used to host various events back in high school, but nothing more beside that.

Ev: Gotcha. You definitely seem to have a natural talent for event hosting, as this has been a great success so far. You also mentioned that you were suggested (by Pau) to apply for a Special position. Do you have any further plans for that?

NotA: Well I plan to apply for it once I feel like I have taken ToF to an high standard and made it well known and loved through out the server community. I plan to apply for Special position once I feel that I have earned it and shown myself to be an great Host.

Ev: Sounds like a good plan, though I think it may be already at that level. For my last question: Where do you see ToF being at say 3 months from now?

NotA: Not sure really, 3 months is a long time, I am planning on making an unique place for ToF, as well as mix up the prize pool in a way and I hope that people that do turn up to this event will stay as smart and as quick as they are now.

Ev: Well I for one really love this event and I'm looking forward to it being a regular part of the server for time to come. thanks NotA!

Further results for ToF are posted below.

THE RETURN OF THE HOSTERS

Earlier this week it was announced that The Hosters would make their return with a brand new building event! Per the forum, the objective of this event is to build "a perfect house for a minecraft mob." I sat down with the man most synonymous with "The Hosters" DanteVentura for a few words on this event.

Ev: So you were a regular player a few years back, but for those who don't already know you just kind of give an introduction of yourself.

Dante: I'm DanteVentura, member of "The Hosters". As you say few years back I was an active player, even a moderator. I really like Sentinel, is a great place to be and the community is top tier. That's why I love to host events. I want to give the community a reason to come back to the server and I think that regular events achieve this goal.

Ev: Thats awesome. Your latest event is a building competition for "a perfect house for a minecraft mob." What inspired you to create this idea?

Dante: Yes, the latest event that "The Hosters" are doing is the Building Competition. I don't want to take all the credit because we're a team. We saw that the last building  event was several years ago and tried to bring it back with something "fresh and challenging". The inspiration for the idea came to me when I saw a video on Twitter about people building houses for their pets. "That's something we could make in Minecraft" I thought and here we are.

Ev: Oh! I apologize. I just assumed that since you were the one who announced the event that it was just you who had the idea. Since I definitely want to give credit where it's due: who are all involved with The Hosters?

Dante: Currently Bread, JoeArmageddon, Eagler, Emulator and me are the official members of The Hosters. Our team has builders, event designers, redstoners and photographers. If people is interested they can apply to join us. This isn't the original team though. The idea of The Hosters started years ago in Sentinel.

Ev: Sounds like an all-star team. Glad to see something like The Hosters have a long standing tenure here at SentinelCraft. Of the mobs that were chosen, which one are you most looking forward to see being built?

Dante: I like all the mobs that people have chosen. It will be really cool to see what they create, but I'm very curious about Glowing Squid and Drowned. Both are mobs that live in water and they have to build a house for them in a floating island. It's a really good challenge.

Ev: Yeah, I completely agree. I'm very excited about seeing that executed. One more question here: What events do we expect to see in the future from The Hosters?

Dante: What an excellent question. We definitely want to bring more events to Sentinel. Old events and new ones. Some ideas that we have are Infinite Maze, Hide & Seek, Dungeon Runners, Faction Wars, Pacman, Boat Race, Beach Party, Co-op Escape Room and Mafia (Werewolf/Town of Salem). I think Co-op Escape Room and Mafia are soon to be released after the Building Event ends.

Ev: Oh wow! Those all sound exciting! Glad to see the growing number of events happening here at Sentinel. Thank you so much for your time, Dante.

Dante: Thanks for the interview evzntv, I loved it. If the community supports us, we'll make all those events happen.

Ev: I'm very certain they will!

EGGS!!!!!
ONE MORE WEEK OF EGGS!

As another week has passed, more eggs were placed throughout the server. Lots of great prizes were included this week including /fly for 1 week in the end/nether/alpha, access to the /nice and /naughty commands and much more. Stycore and BlokeHead became the first people to successfully collect 4 eggs, the maximum for the event. This upcoming week is the last week for the egg event! If you haven't yet participated, this will be your last chance to do so until next year. For more information on this event, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10242.30

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

Once again, RoW was hosted twice this past Wednesday. The early RoW was a bit less spicy but still entertaining and full of beef. The finals were determined by a game of Spleef as Baked_Tater came away with the victory. Late RoW, however, was full of spice. The spiciest including the killing/revival of JeffEatsPie by MHGUForPresident (Moog). Moog decided to eliminate Jeff due to an in rank killing. However, the very next round was a "revival round". Jeff was fortunate and ultimately won the revival round and killing Moog in the process, avenging his death. The finals was determined by a unique team boat race which saw AceAlmighty16 take home the victory, while bringing his revived teammate charactername111 to 2nd place. For more information on RoW, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=588.165

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

For the second consecutive week, ToF was held twice on Friday. For both competitions, the trivia theme was "Minecraft Trivia". The early competition brought in a staggering 15!!! competitors. While both PaulinaCarrot and BrendaxNL contended early, Etspiritu (nead) took charge and never looked back as he claimed the victory. But nead wasn't done there! In the late event, nead decided to join the late event halfway through. This didn't matter as nead charged past the leaders to win once again, becoming the first person to ever sweep the ToF event. A huge shoutout to nead for both his fast fingers and quick thinking. Well done! For more information on ToF, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10233.msg57700;topicseen#new

TOWN SPOTLIGHT

As part of next week's feature story, I have decided to cover a specific town in detail. However, the dilemma I'm having as an editor/writer is that there are so many good towns out there that I don't know what to choose! This is why I'm asking for your help. So I ask you, which town do you want to see covered in detail first? Let me know via discord or in game :) .

EDITOR'S NOTE

I want to take some time in this note to thank everyone for your support on both this brand new project and my promotion. The amount of support I've received in the last week has been both overwhelming yet outstanding. Becoming the official journalist of SentinelCraft is nothing short of a privilege and I am determined to deliver the best possible content I can from here on out. As we transition into another new week, I suggest everyone take the kindness they showed to me and apply it someone else this week. You never know what being kind can do for someone. It could be your random act of kindness that could mean everything for them.

Special thanks to bugsy12 for her reporting this week!

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!

SENTINELCRAFT'S
WEEKEND OBSERVATIONS
EDITION: 03-21-2021

Welcome everyone to Weekend Observations! The place where you can get a week's worth of SentinelCraft all in one thread! This thread is a weekly recap of all the major changes that have happened over the span of the last week (March 14th-21st). As always if you have any contributions/questions you can contact evzntv in game or on discord. Let's get into the week!

TOWN TRANSFER

This past week was a big transition for one of our own Senior Admins, as Oplegoman left his long-time town of CODE for Tranquila. I sat down with Ople to discuss why he left Code.

Ev: So the question that's been a lot of peoples mind: why did you leave your longtime town of CODE?

Ople: One of the reasons I felt like leaving Code would have been that I would have been in that town for well over a year, I believe I joined Code either just before I was a moderator or when I became a moderator, it very much felt like I needed a change of scenery and engage with other members of the community. Also another reason is the 'relentless' attacks upon my very beloved shop BuildyBlocks! Shop loyalty over Town loyalty! looking at NotA and Stycore

Ev: I definitely get that. Sometimes a change in scenery is best to freshen things up and I'm glad you were able to realize that (even though I and many others will miss having you in Imperium). Now that you're in Tranquila, what are your goals there?

Ople: Not much really, as with any town I have been in I do not engage with town matters all that much. My one aim is to make BuildyBlocks even better and many in the future 'hire' others to help run my shop or have their own little markets under the BuildyBlocks banner

Ev: Gotcha. Definitely glad you touched on BuildyBlocks, as this was going to be my final question for you. BuildyBlocks has been a booming success for both the server and yourself, did you always see BuildyBlocks becoming the attraction it is today?

Ople: I wanted BuildyBlocks to be big for business but I never thought it would be such a big thing on the server, but that might be down to me and my constant 'promotion' as a store I think it has done well as it focused on a particular set of products to sell and its in the name that they are all building blocks and that I have made sure that for the most part it has always been in stock ensuring people comeback when they need certain blocks!

Ev: Absolutely. Promoting your business is one thing, but having a consistent product that goes with it is what ultimately brings success. Good stuff, thanks for your time Ople!

Ople: No problem at all.

EGGS!!!!!

Eggs!!! Need I say more? Since late February, the primary event of the server has been the Easter egg hunt. Players must search between Horizon, Kattalox, Fedgardia, and Pern in hopes of finding an Easter egg hologram. Finding an unclaimed Easter egg leads to rewards that can be redeemed once the event is over. If you aren't already participating in this event, then I highly recommend you do! It's a fun and competitive event that has great rewards. For more information on this event, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10242.30

The following players found an egg this week:

Roll on Wednesday (RoW)

RoW is an event that occurs twice every Wednesday. This event takes both luck and skill as you must possess a combination of both to win!

Hosted by Devereux and bugsy12, RoW has been a long-running event at SentinelCraft and is a great way to interact with the community in a positive and fun manner. This week's event was a competitive one as it was close in both tournaments. Additionally, "beef" was prevalent as there were several in-town and in-nation killings! For more information on RoW, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=588.165

Here are the results for this week's event!

Trivia on Friday (ToF)

ToF is an event that occurs every Friday. It's a test of knowledge and speed, and the player who possesses both is the winner!

This event is normally held once each Friday by NotAWesternSpy. However, a bombshell announcement was announced by bugsy12 that a second ToF event would be added during the late hours. For both competitions, the trivia theme was "memes". For more information on ToF, visit this forum: http://sentinelcraft.net/forum/index.php?topic=10233.msg57700;topicseen#new

EDITOR'S NOTE

Once again, it was another great week here at SentinelCraft. As we move towards another week, it's important that we continue to cherish the time we have here as a community. SentinelCraft is an amazing group of individuals, and it's important that we all know how much we mean to each other. Let someone know how much they mean to you this week.

Special thanks to Oplegoman and Devereux for their assistance in this first edition!

As always, thank you for reading "Weekend Observations" and we'll see you back here again this time next week!

Special Application / Special Application: evzntv
« on: March 19, 2021, 06:25:05 PM »
- What is your in-game name?
evzntv

- Current Rank?
Donator ($50)

- How long have you been on the server?
I joined the server in September 2019, but I have been consistently playing since January 2021.

- Which special rank do you want to apply for?
Journalist/Podcaster

- Why do you think you deserve that special rank?
Journalism is something I've been passionate about for as long as I can remember. For the longest time, I didn't think there would be a way to connect that with Minecraft until I read the "Know Your Staff" and "Outside the Blocks" series by Dante and Brenda repsectively. Both of those series are great and really impressed me, but I feel I can add more in addition to what has already been done. There are several projects that I have considered starting for the server that I feel are unique and haven't been done before that would be interesting. I feel with this rank, I can really stand out and achieve those said projects.

- Did any staff member suggest that you apply?
Nope.

- Additional Information:
In terms of what I've done, I run a podcast for my personal YouTube channel and I would be happy to provide my work of that. I am also open to detailing some of my unique ideas to Senior Staff as well if needed :)

Non-Minecraft Topics / The Narcissister!
« on: March 05, 2021, 06:32:28 PM »
Hi everyone!

For those who don't already know, I am a communications/journalism major specializing in digital media production. I've been directing films (music videos, promotional videos) for around 3 years now (hence the name evzntv). But now I am working on a new project with several others at my school called "The Narcissister".

This web-series follows Lucy, a twenty year old girl who was raised in a Catholic church and home. She has always had a sort of malicious behavior, ever since she was just a little girl, but she has just been professionally diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Lucy?s parents believe wholeheartedly that the only way to change her heart is by devoting herself to God in becoming a nun. Lucy willingly joins a local convent, but fails to maintain her so-called promise as a faithful servant to the Lord due to her overpowering self-grandiosity.

As part of this show, we are graded on the amount of "likes" and "subscribers" we get for this channel. I would really appreciate it if everyone could check this out as this is very important going forward.

« on: February 20, 2021, 12:06:06 AM »
Faygo Dreams is now open!

Faygo Dreams is a brand new town open to all people & playing styles!

Since it is a relatively new town, the town is far from complete, but what town ever is?

I hope to see some new members in the coming months, as well as visitors  8)

Moderator Application / Moderator Application: evzntv
« on: February 18, 2021, 07:51:10 PM »
- What is your in-game name?
evzntv

- Current Rank?
Donator ($50)

- Where are you from?
Atlanta, Georgia (USA)

- What is your age?
19

- How often do you vote?
Not as often as I should, but this is something I'm actively working on!

- When did you join the server?
I originally joined Sentinel on September 17th, 2019 and played until early 2020. I made my return on January 9th, 2021.

- What time of the day are you on? (include timezone)
Anywhere from 12 PM-2 AM (US EST)

- Are you currently staff on any other servers?
No. I was a Moderator on a different towny server for around a year back in 2014 (server has long folded), so I do have experience on this front. Sentinel is the only server I play on.

- Why do you think should you be promoted and how will you be helpful?
For me, it comes down to having the right balance of knowledge and characteristic qualities. I feel I possess a good balance of both of those things. I have a good grasp on the basic commands, especially towny, and have always went out of my way to be a helping hand to those who need it. I also go out of my way to welcome every new member every time I'm on. This is key in building potential new members in the community. As far as my personal traits, I would say I'm an empathetic and kind person who can see out all sides in any given situation. I feel that's an important skill to have as a Moderator. However, I also know how to delegate punishment when necessary and I'm not afraid to be stern when needed to be.

- Do you feel like you can be neutral and be loyal to the server rules above all else?
Absolutely.

- Additional Information:
I just want to note that SentinelCraft has really rekindled my love for the game and I am really appreciative and thankful of the community here for that. I also want to thank the Senior Staff for taking the time to consider this application.
