Questions from a noob
« on: July 03, 2014, 01:10:27 AM »
Hi there, we're 3 italian guys having fun in this amazing server.. Have a few occasion to meet the admins and they were useful and kind like also other guys that helped Us with redstone issues and stuff.. MAX support from Italy to this server!! We're spreading and shareing!!

But... we haven't got well the towny system.. (Sorry about this maybe somewhere in the forum there is already the answers)
We already have a lot of stuff built and very near to the money to create a real town..Should we join a nation then? Are we already in one of those?? We need to mark a border or have limits in our town space? And... who are the enemies?? Is it possible that I have some very near and when town they will crash Us down immediatly?? :(

Thanks a lot and see ya all in the world!

Griefing isnt allowed, at all. so no worrys about people crushing your town, the server is mostly pretty lax, and fights between towns and nations are usually held in pvp arenas.

You do not haft to join a nation if you make a town but doing so does give your town a bonus. if your curious about joining a nation pop over to the nations area of the forums, some give perks if you join, others dont,

And thanks, were happy your enjoys your time playing here :D

Bienvenuta, if that's how you say welcome in italian =P!

TimeKeeper explained most everything.

However, you do not have necessarilly to create a town to be officially one. You can be apart of a "wilderness town", a town that isn't using the towny plugin. Since your stuff is already protected in the wilderness due to the rules, and since you are all friends with eachother, this seems to be a better option. With this option, you do not need to worry about griefers. You just have to call a staff member when an unexplainable grief happens.

If you are planning on adding new players to your town that you don't know personally, then creating a town with the towny plugin is the best option! I suggest when creating the town, you place some money on the bank (around 1000$) because the town upkeep might make your town bankrupt and fall into ruins. The nation is optional, you cannot be forced to join one if you do not want to. If you need any help with towny commands in the future, you can always check the /tutorial, ask help online and/or on the forums, some members are always willing to help!

This is the site I use for all my towny commands

https://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/towny/wiki/Commands

It's a little awkward to follow at first, but gets easier. When I get time I'll likely write it up into a friendlier format.
