The state of Sentinelcraft
« on: January 21, 2014, 04:43:30 AM »
Heyo, I've been wanting to post this for a while but always forgot to. ;p
Anyways, do you think that our community (Sentinelcraft) is growing in shrinking member-wise?
We've a lot of players join and a lot of players leave. (either that or they get their butt handed to them by le ban hammer)
At times I see up to 20 players on the server, but at other times I see 1 person on in the middle of the day.
So, whadda you think? (read pole)

The reason people get banned is because they are not following the rules they read when they first join correctly! In the rules it clearly states that this is an adult mature server. If people are too young to abide by the rules or act mature then there's plenty of other servers out there. Sentinel Craft wants a community of people who will follow the rules and have a good laugh about. Its not about getting numbers (even though that is good too!) Also a reason for the server numbers dropping to 1 at mid day is that a big chunk of the servers community is from one place in the world. With this said: people work and go to school mid day so I don't expect to see players skiving off school or work :P

You forget that there a peak times for every server on every game. There are many reason why there is a large amount of players on, say at 8pm Sunday Evening and maybe 1 or 2 on at 1pm Tuesday Afternoon.

A lot of people on this server have work and/or school, so evenings are the best time to play. Some people won't find the time during the week so will play on the weekend. Some people might prefer to go out on a Friday/Saturday evening and stay in and play on a Sunday... some people still live with parents and have time constraints placed on them... I could go on and on ;P

Its also caz of the Time Zone, I live in India and I usually play at 3:00 - 5:00 PM GMT +5.5, during this time its like only 2-5 players, but at times like 8PM its raining people, with 15+ online. Also check the day: Weekends = More free time = more people :D

Its hard for me to answer this question, given my relatively short time on the server.  From what I have seen, the player cap of the server won't need to be raised as it normally handles twice the population during peak hours.  And since no one is on 24/7, except maybe rich, it is hard for any individual to judge this imo

True

Even tho rich is online 24/7 he's afk half or most of the time >.>

I'd say new players are coming in, and some are coming out, but it is slowly increasing

We have a steadily increasing growth rate. Meaning the number of unique accounts + the amount of time said unique account are on the server has been increasing. Call it 12% growth over last month. Which is a far better indicator of growth then just how many people are on.

i like the way the staff weeds out the idiots. given sometimes the funny kids are good to have around for filler (funny conversations in global chat, trade opportunity's etc) the ones who just cant or dont listen should go. and the staff seems to be handling this pretty well.

it feels like theres always a new player on every couple days, but IMHO they are mostly (filler) players, meaning that they either come on, and then leave after a day or two or get banned cause they cant listen to the rules, Still it seems like we pick up a decent player from time to time that sticks around.
