Thinking of holding an event
« on: March 01, 2020, 09:35:28 PM »
Hey guys,

I am looking to develop an event for us all on the server, this could be a one off or could be a monthly occurrence (this would determined later!)
I am looking to run a Storage Wars style event, which players bid on room filled with items/chests in the hope to turn a profit. But I am hoping to run this event is a slightly different way to make it more interactive between players.

The idea!

Phase Zero:

Decide either to go into it as a team or alone (max of 3 people per team)

Phase one:

Buying into the event (a small fee to reserve place on event). This gives the player ?Storage War Tokens? which shall be used during the event as this shall make it much fairer, making money irrelevant so everyone can participate at the same level.

Phase two:

The building/development of each storage container with items and clutter to make the bidding process a little harder! This would be roughly a ? of the number of players playing to put an emphasis on getting a storage container and outbidding each other!

About the containers:

Containers shall contain a mix of items split into 3 categories:
1.   Trash ? items which a virtually worthless ? some shall be tradeable for ?Storage War Tokens?.
2.   Valuables ? items which already have innate value
3.   Collectables ? items which are worthless alone but can be traded with the Storage wars store for big rewards.

I shall expand on what I mean by collectables, this means a set of custom named items (usually worthless items on the server) when collected together can be exchanged for large amount of ?Storage War Tokens? for a future round or prizes.

Sometimes to obtain a full set a player might have to trade with another player for such items; this should preferably be done with ?Storage War Tokens?.

Phase three:

The bidding process starts, all bids shall be in ?Storage War Tokens? for each of the different Storage containers and as expected after all the containers have been sold, the contents becomes property of the winning bidder.

It is up to the player how they deal with their contents, but the aim should be to obtain the most ?Storage War Tokens? alongside collectable sets.

Phase four:

Once phase three has been run once or multiple times, we are now into the final stretch. The finally trades between players should occur now and the tallying of ?Storage War Tokens? shall be taken, and prizes given accordingly.

So far this is my overall plan for such an event and think that it could do with a little refining to make it a little more fun in some respects. If this is something people would be interested in, I would be looking for a few players to help me build the ?arena? which this event shall take place along with one trustworthy player to help with the work which could need to be done behind the scenes.

I hope to hear from you guys about this plan :D

So what I'm reading, is that show where people open storage buildings that people haven't paid for the rent, and bid on the contents? But in Minecraft?

I'm game, sounds good, lets do it

I am a loving person "cute" some will say and if I don't have anything to do I will follow you, But I do tend to be a bit clumsy "so my bad!"

This seems realy fun, but one question.
You say there will be a storage wars shop, dose that mean you can buy stuff too? Or only sell for more tokens?

Hi, i am in the process of refining my idea somemore as there are still somethings i can expand upon. First I would like to say that you can only sell the the shop and not buy, as this will keep the event running and also makes the event challanging if you where given a bad starting hand.
