My first stone build (WIP)
« on: February 07, 2015, 05:52:53 PM »
hello guys/gals. i wanted to share my progress on my first real attempt at a stone based build. I figured most wouldn't get to see it being as it is located in the small mountain village of bergdorf (we are accepting new members BTW).

I have kind figured out the art of wooden and clay buildings, but i never got the hang of stone. I have trouble adding detail. so here are a few pictures of my progress. please feel free to give me any advice on how to step up my building skills, and i will kindly take any criticism thrown my way

P.S. for those who dislike texture packs, please excuse the one i am using. also, be aware that this is a WORK IN PROGRESS, i am nowhere near finished

Haha wow, thanks everyone, i didnt think it was that spectacular, if you wish to see the building in its (apparant) glory, do /t spawn bergdorf

the warp will take you directly inside the castle. also, would you guys be interested in seeing my other build on the server? it is a wooden house/mansion type thing... not sure how to describe it.

By the way, you will probably never know what any of my builds will look like finished, as i generally get inspired by another idea before i finish the one im working on, its a bad habit of not finishing projects.

soartex fanver is the name of the pack. there are various versions of it. optifine is required however as it is 32x. one flaw is that character models and some transparent blocks are not right (thus i used fast graphics to fix the leaves problem)

hey guys, im trying really hard to get you some more pictures, but currently my internet is painstakingly slow. i time out before i can connect to the server, ill keep trying when i have time, but it doesnt look good. thats what you get with small towns though :)

(just to load the forums it took four minutes per page lol)

ok, so it took me a while, but i finally got passed my builders block and managed to work on the inside, i only have one side done right now, but here are some pics...

P.S. i have the upstairs and the right side to populate yet, please give me some ideas as to what i can implement, I want it to be functional

This looks awesome! Sortex was my fav pack, but everytime i try to get it now it just wont work in game. It just defaults back to the "default" texture. Upsetting. Want it back!
