The Event

Maze Madness is the newest addition in the events hosted by The Hosters
It is an orientation based minigame, combining speed and your abillity to find chests.
Will you find the exit in time??

When

This Weekend (03/04/16 or 03/05/16)

The Rules

• You can't fly while doing the challenge.
• You can't use enderpearls
• You can't break any full blocks.
• Don't show other players the correct way.
• You must start the challenge without any armor, weapons, money in your balance or anything in your inventory. Except for normal food(steak, carrots,pork,...)
• You can't look inside dispensers.
• You can't open 1 way iron doors for other players.
• Other players can pick-up your items when you die.
• Only items allowed are food and the items you find inside the maze
• You can use the items found in the maze on other players
• Have fun!

How to play

Playing is fairly simple, your goal is to find as much items hidden in several chests. while doing so you must also find the exit to the maze.
There are 4 levels, slowly becoming more difficult.
When the event starts, players will be asked to teleport to one of the hosters online, from the moment the doors open you are allowed to go in the maze, when you teleport in later you have a disadvantage. At the end there will be hoppers to drop your collected items into, place a block on top of the hopper when you have all your items in it. This means you are done playing, points will be calculated on the official start time of the event and the time you place that block down. It is not allowed to break blocks from someone else.

when you DIE or if you are STUCK : request a teleport to one of the hosters, who will put you back into the maze. Deaths cause no penalties in points. 

The Score

Players will start with 1000 basepoints
For every second you are in the maze you will lose 5 points.
For every item you find you will earn 1500 points.
Extra time signs will get you a reduction of the time spent in the maze
But if you find 1 of the 2 rare items, the item points will be doubled.

Prizes
The first place can choose between one of the following steam games



Or have an in-game reward

The second and third place will get an in-game reward

• A stack of ores (not diamond)
• 10 diamonds
• A cave-spider spawner
• ...

What game you want and why: Rituals. They both look hella interesting, but the deciding factor was the song that plays at the end of the Rituals preview reminded me of the Stranger Things theme song sooooo yeah.

UPDATE

Changed the basepoints, so finding items is much more important for the total score.

You now start with 1000 basepoints, every second in the maze you lose 5 points, so without finding any items(almost impossible) you have +- 3 minutes and a half to complete the maze.  The goal is therefor to find more items to gain more points.


For completing the maze and thus escaping you will be rewarded a 500 points bonus.
