Thank you for taking the time to suggest an improvement to the server! I have two concerns about this datapack however.
First of all, I?m not sure what the benefit would be. Calculating nether portal coordinates is simply multiplying or dividing your current X and Z coordinate by 8. (I?m also not sure how the 1:8 nether ratio works with the two different size survival worlds, or with the fact that the Nether is artificially smaller than 1/8th of Horizon). There are
several guides
available online, all that this does I?m assuming is display this in game. Nether portal fast travel is not as powerful on Sentinel compared to vanilla. We have access to elytra/flying, as well as warps and /tpa to travel vast distances easily.
Secondly, this would inherently encourage people to build in the nether, which is not our goal on the server. The Nether is a resource world that is periodically reset, and this would lead to precisely placed portals that would inevitably cause tantrums when they are lost.
