SCCF Official Rules and Etiquette
By participating in tournaments, you agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions as set out below.
Before the game- Contact your opponent to schedule a time to play. Try to be as flexible and understanding as you can.
- When you arrive at an arena, please be respectful of the build.
- Players should do /cballflyoff to avoid flying while in game.
- Try to set up your jersey and sword some time before your match so your opponent does not have to wait.
- Start a 2 minute warm-up--this is so that people know if they are lagging. If you are, you can reschedule the game to anytime before the deadline of said round.
- To avoid arguments, a game can only start if there is a third person acting as the referee.
During the game- To start the game, each player must stand on the light block (glowstone, sea lantern, beacon, etc.) on their side of the field.
- The chicken ball will then be spawned at the center of the field. Play begins when the referee says 'go'.
- Please only use a knockback II sword. Not stick, not axe, not shovel, not anything else but a sword.
- The game will be exactly 10 minutes and the referee will keep time. You do not have to stop time for outs/goals, but intentional waste of time will not be tolerated.
- Out rules apply (i.e. if the chicken is hit out of bounds, the possession of the ball goes to the opponent).
- In order to score a goal, the chicken must fall into the goal completely.
- After a goal is scored, play resumes by placing a new chicken ball on the light block of the player who concedes. The goal scorer must stand behind the halfway line before play can resume.
- In the case that one player lags terribly, we will allow the match to be suspended and resumed later (before the deadline of the round). Play resumes with the time remaining from the original game. Please do not use this rule for your own benefit (i.e. making it a timeout when you are losing fairly). It is meant to accommodate players that lag.
- Play ends after 10 minutes and the one with the most goals is determined the winner. In the case of a tie/draw in a knockout round, sudden death will come into play.
After the game- Conduct sportsmanlike behavior. Congratulate your opponent, GGs, and do not be an ass when you lose.
- Reply to the tournament's topic with the result of the match. It will be updated on Challonge as soon as possible.
General etiquette- If you cannot make a match, be the good guy and forfeit your match. Do not make us randomize a winner when it is your fault that a match is not played.
- If you come to spectate, please do not be disruptive. Make some noise from the stands, cheer the players on but do not fly around needlessly.
- Keep it classy, and enjoy the game(s)!
These rules are subject to modification, so do check back before each tournament.
