Okay to clear up an misconceptions.

There is no command needed to retrieve your items.

 - If you have the minimum 25$/50$/100$ dollars when you die. Then your items will be automatically returned to you.
 - The cost is varied based on how much money you have. The percentages are either 5%/10%/20% depending on how you died.
 - If you do not have the minimum 25$/50$/100$ on you when you die, your items will automatically drop on the ground just like if you were in single player mode.
 - If you die from PVP you drop 50% of your free items. Free items do not include any armor or tools you may be carrying.
 - PVP still requires you to have a minimum of 25$ to retrieve what is left of your items.

Also in response to the PVP issues, we have changed the way the /back command works.
 - whenever you use /back there will now be a cooldown.
 - Dying will also drop 50% of your xp on the ground.
 - When you use /back there will be a PVP cooldown where you willnot be able to to attack or be attacked.
 - These changes will take place Saturday November 23rd at 7pm GMT

I think this new system for "/back" will be much better suited for PvP.  Cudo's to whomever's idea that was.

As Debu suggested to post here I will but anyway, is the death penalty for falling still $200 and say if someone "Dooms you to fall" does that count as PvP or as falling to your death?

Falling and dying will take 20% of ur money. A minimum of 200 and a maximum of 1000. Use ur /fly I guess?(only if u were attacked while it was on) And that would be falling death. Even if someone Uses a fire sword and bow on u. and u burn to death, it will be a fire death.

Ok thanks, though it still didn't answer my main question which is I don't have /fly on because I like playing without time to time, anyway would it count as being "Doomed to fall" or would it be just falling? like there the one were you ran into lava after being hit by a mob/pvper and it says "DaVoBMX1725 fell into lava trying to escape blah blah"

I even answered that question maybe u missed it out. It will be a falling death as the person does not directly kill you. Same with fire enchanted tools. I'll die from the fire and not from his direct blow.

been referring people to this topic for a while now but I've just noticed that unless i'm mistaken 04. [relating to the /back command] is no longer relevant as i recall being able to use the command as a member. to prevent any miss communications or issues you may want to edit/change that part.

NOTE: this reply is to a very old topic, if you are just arriving here then you have no need to worry these changes were in place long before you arrived and will already seem second nature to you.

I am seeking clarification..
Would /home <home> in response to surprise PVP also be evading? As /home command has a 3 second "don't move" timeout?

also for those of us with /fly capability, double jump to lift off to escape? (as I understand we need to type /fly in to initially activate flight)

Cheers
R.

im sure using fly would not be ok. as far as /home i mean if they havent hit you in the 3 sec then i would think that would be ok, but i would want clarification ok that.

my tip for pvp Escape: Enderpearls
start running away and toss an enderpearl in a random direction. gets you 20-30 blocks away.

If you dont get hit in the timeout then we agree that you have successfully "evaded" That is why we have the timeout on most of these commands.
Command that are instant are the commands that are frowned upon. Such as /afk. <--- (Will get you severely punished)
Enderpearling away and then typing /home is a fair method of trying to escape.

As for fly, If you start flying during pvp, that is breaking the rules. We understand accidents happen, and everything will be taken on a case by case basis. But once you have been struck, if you were not already flying (And I mean off the ground), you cannot fly during pvp.

If you are attacked while flying (boots visibly off the ground) = Okay to use fly during PVP. (Even if they are not, since by our logic they knew what they were getting into)
If you are attacked while not flying = Not okay to use flying during PVP
If you see someone flying and you also have fly = Okay to engage in mutually flying PVP (since you both have fly, even playing field)
If you see someone flying and you do not have fly = Okay to engage in PVP (But be warned, if they are attacked while flying, they can continue to use fly for the duration.)

I feel like most people knew the majority of these, but here it is spelled out as best I can.

Fedgar,
thanks for the clarifications. Not quite what I expected but ok.
I was under the impression that PVP and flight was mutually exclusive, that flight could be used to take a player "off the menu" for PvP players.

another question, whats the command to hide yourself from the DynMap?
