Everything Else / I lost my rank due to name change.
« on: February 09, 2019, 01:45:57 AM »
I'm an older player that bought a rank around a year ago, I took quite a long break but wanted to get back into the server. I got on and saw that I lost my rank, I bought either the $15 rank or the $20, I also bought a WE req. I'm unsure whether ranks go away after you guys start a new map or update your server but what I think happened is that I changed my name and it went away. My old username was VapeNaysh and I changed it to TenniSwift, I'm not too attached to the rank but if it doesn't go away after a new map or update I'd like it back, thank you. :)

Senior Member Application / SM Application
« on: July 16, 2018, 05:26:48 AM »
- What is your in-game name?
       VapeNaysh

- Have you been active for at least 1 month?
Yes I've been active for around 2+ months, although I'll be inactive through July 20th - 28th since I'm going to a running camp. (If that's information you'd like)

- Have you been helpful for other people on the server? If yes, who and how?
Generally overall I try to be helpful, there have been many small occasions where I've helped people out in chat to which I can't name the instance. Although the one thing that comes to mind is when a member was supposed to be temporarily muted and ended up getting permanently muted, which meant he/she couldn't log in. So he/she hopped on another account to resolve the situation, (just to resolve the situation, they weren't multi-accounting) but I was the only one there, I managed to get into contact with foxpatronous and she managed to fix the problem. That was just a small problem and I didn't really do much to help but that's just something that came to mind, his or her username was giorkisk I believe.

- Have you been jailed/muted/rules restricted before? If yes, what punishment and motive?
So far I haven't been muted, jailed or 'rules restricted?' before.

- Do you vote regularly?
Yes I've been trying to vote regularly, it's been around a couple times a week, I haven't been able to vote everyday since I've been a little bit more busy but that should clear up.

- Are you going to be active and keep in touch on the forums?
Yes I love to read around on the forums, usually I don't bother with these sort of things with past servers but I've been really enjoying this forum. I plan on being more active on the forums and on the server once I get back from my trip. :)

- Additional Information:
It might be redundant to apply for SM when I'm a donator but I feel like having senior member rank will boost my reputation and show that I've been playing this server actively. Plus; I'm unsure whether or not I want to apply for mod, but having SM in my opinion will make applying a little bit easier, kind of adds to a sort of "resume" metaphorically speaking.

Feature/Plugin Requests / Colosseum PvP
« on: July 15, 2018, 05:49:43 AM »
This isn't a plugin request necessarily but it is something that in my opinion would make colosseum pvp better. I think that a saturation effect should be added to players when players spawn in to fight because they won't be able to last that long without it. Once players run out of hunger, which is pretty quickly in 1.12, they're just kind of walking around slowly, which isn't that fun for pvp. I think that just adding saturation for the 10 minutes allotted for pvp would make it easier for the players to fight. Another thing that I think should be added is unbreakable weapons, I think that adding this feature would again, make it easier for players to focus on fighting. In my experience with colosseum I've found that it's almost impossible to kill a player 3 times without your sword breaking somewhere in the middle, then when it does you're just punching them to death. I think adding unbreaking to the weapons will make games easier, faster and less boring. Although I don't think armor should have unbreaking, I think the armor should stay breakable just because if a player does manage to survive that long they should be put at a disadvantage. With a weapon breaking it's just annoying, you just start punching someone and it goes on forever.

Feature/Plugin Requests / Re: Custom Enchants Plugin
« on: June 26, 2018, 06:19:55 AM »
This sounds like a cool mod, but the implications would be a massive change to the server. Plus this is a pretty massive plugin that would most likely make the server run slower. Having cool enchantments like gears and springs could be useful, but there are a variety of enchantments here that would make the game too easy, such as auto-repair, which negates the use of building up your mcmmo repair level. Plus enchantments like explosion would probably put stress on the server, I know there's a bug that's client-side that creates 'ghost-blocks' when blocks are mined too fast. This is entirely my opinion though, I would love to new content on the server but I don't think this would help the server out in the long run.    -Will

What do you enjoy the most about SentinelCraft and where should we improve?
As I've previously stated in my application for moderator I find this server to be well developed in many aspects. Not only server wise, but with the community in general. It's amazing to see such an old server still flourishing considering the age of this server. Yes, people are slowly losing interest in Minecraft, people are growing up and have lives outside of video games. This isn't to say that there are new younger players coming into this server, and some old players that want to find a community to be apart of, myself included. Although, to get back to my point about development wise, this server is really well developed, but it seems like updates are coming slower, I don't know if this server has a developer, but to keep it fresh I might suggest trying to find one. Another thing I saw in a reply to this post was someone said to give donators the ability to fly in the nether and end, and I sort of disagree with this point, I find that the less pay-to-win this server is the better. I think making everyone play on level ground is a better idea than having donators be overly over-powered. Although I understand that you have to attract people to donate to your server so you offer them perks in-game but I think where they are right now is appropriate. I feel like if you give donators more commands and perks the server will just be a massive influx of donators to regular members, meaning that most of the community would be donators. Another thing that people have been bringing up in this post is that they should add some sort of quest system, to add more to the game. While I find that idea to be amazing and I would really support it if it wasn't the fact that things like that take time. To that I say if you put effort into it with the resources that you have then go for it, or even wait until you get SM to apply for a special rank. I really like the idea it's just that would take a lot of work to make a reality, and again I don't know if the server has a developer to make such plugins to work in conjunction with said 'questing system', or they could find a new one, I'm sure there is one out there.

The things that I think this server could improve on is making it easier to engage new players into playing. I know when I first joined I was kind of frazzled by the amount of prompts I got from the ./login and the rules. I definitely like how the start-game is accepting the rules and learning your way around the server, but I think that there could be improvement. I think that older mature players can easily navigate their way through the commands and get the hang of it, but I think that for younger players it's a little hard. I don't know how many times I've come onto the server where so many players have come onto the server only to instantly leave. There could be a variety of reasons behind this but I think that the prompts for younger children scare them away from the server, I also think the rules might navigate people away the server too. More specifically the one rule that states you can't make automatic farms, this is definitely a major component to Minecraft, even if it's a cheap way to get resources. I agree with this rule completely but I feel like there's a lot of depth to this rule and needs to be explained more. I think that auto-farms shouldn't be allowed because it does take a toll on the server, and it makes it easier for players to progress quickly. I think the only thing you should add to this rule, and explain more clearly, is that automatic farms aren't allowed, but if it takes effort it is allowed. Even if it's just pressing a button, getting the last hit or pushing around mobs they ARE allowed, and that definitely cleared a lot up for me. At first I thought that any sort of redstone contraption wasn't allowed, but that wasn't the case and now I'm more inclined to play the server because one of the main components to Minecraft is still intact. Also I think that even if a player made an automatic farm I don't think it would be a problem considering the server freezes entities if you're a certain number of blocks away from it.

Overall I think the server is amazing and that it doesn't need to do much more to keep a good player base. I definitely appreciate that the owner prompts players to give their input on what they think should happen, be added and should stay. I'd say that's definitely a lot more effort than many owners out there with a server.

What do you expect of SentinelCraft in the near future?
I don't think players should expect anything from this server, things could definitely happen for the worse. All I think SentinelCraft should keep doing is staying up, providing a server and a community for players to play on, and do it's best to provide for it's members. To say I'd expect anything is egotistical, the server is something that's run by an owner that has his own agenda, he's doing great, and if we were to expect anything it's that he should do his best to keep his server up.

Do you have any suggestions for plugins/features that are not currently added which might improve our player base?
Other than what I said above I don't really have anything to say. I think that we should try to make the server as friendly as possible to anyone who wants to play. Make it little bit easier to navigate through the server and update it to keep up with the interest.

If you are inactive, is there a server related reason for the inactivity that you want to share with us and, if yes, what would you like to see on the server so we can call your attention back?
I think the only reasons I would be inactive is things related to my personal life, like school, my training and personal goals. I play this server to enjoy myself, build up my patience and communicate with this community. This server is doing great by keeping the interest up, keeping players engaged and giving challenge to new players and that by itself is a reason to stay.   -Will

Moderator Application / Moderator Application

- What is your in-game name?
         VapeNaysh

- Current Rank?
         Donator

- Where are you from?
Alaska (If you need me to specify where I can)

- What is your age?
         17

- How often do you vote?
As of now I didn?t know you could, but I?ll commit myself to try to vote every day. :)

- When did you join the server?
April 21, 2018, according to ./joindate, which sounds about right.

- What time of the day are you on? (include timezone)
I?m usually on around 3-7 PM AKST or UTC - 9:00, and on the weekends I?ll probably be on around anywhere from 7 PM to 2 AM, unless my sleep schedule gets fixed.

- Are you currently staff on any other servers?
This server is currently the only server I play on but I have experience staffing on servers.

- Why do you think should you be promoted and how will you be helpful?
I think this server is an amazing server, one of the most well developed servers I?ve come across. To say that I?ll be able to help and accomodate the players is a given, but to say that I?ll be able to be an impactful and astonishing staff member is another thing. It?s not that I doubt my own abilities, I find myself to be very capable and mature. It?s the fact that I find this server not only to be well developed server side, I find it well developed community wise. Sentinel has many capable amazing staff members, and would benefit with an additional member, but I feel as it not to be necessary. What I mean is, is that the server is very capable on its own, the staff are active, helpful and very kind. This is not to say that they?re always on, I feel like I could be useful considering my time-zone. But while it may not be necessary I feel like I should be promoted to be an added root to an ever-growing tree. I?d like to be apart of this community, and to become a staff member is no better way to become not only apart of the community, but help develop and nurture it.

- Do you feel like you can be neutral and be loyal to the server rules above all else?
        Yes I do.

- Additional Information:
I think I?ll just add a little bit about myself here. To start off I?d like to state why I joined the server. I was never the most patient person when it came to long projects so I made a list of ?projects? that I wanted to complete in the future. One was to learn how to code, I?m starting off with Python because I hear that?s what you want to start with. Second is that I wanted to become more patient, and I?ve added many little projects to bulk up my patience and playing on this server is one of them. I feel like Minecraft is an easy way to build up patience and creativity, with an unlimited sandbox to play with it?s easy to get lost in, but also easy to get bored of. I?ve never ever been able to start a world or play on a survival server and commit myself, and so I joined this server, to tell myself I can be patient and play this server out for as long as I can. I find patience is key to many things, so I made it one of my ?projects?. Third is that I wanted to build upon my running career so I can get scholarships for college when I end up going. So I?ll be training for XC and then Track & Field when it comes around. :) I think that?s it for my little introduction, but you can ask me anything if you see me and I?ll probably go on a little tangent talking about myself, so be careful. :P

I?d also like to state that I?m not expecting to get staff, and my position upon the community won?t change if I don?t. I plan on staying, making my mark and when the time comes that I need to move on, I?ll move on peacefully. I feel like this server will be an amazing part of my free-time life, and build my character to the standards I?d like them to be at. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

World Edit Requests / Excavating a hole
« on: June 17, 2018, 01:03:34 AM »
I'd like to make a cave like area for my base, I'd like to just have someone come along with voxel sniper and open up an area for a hub. The coords of what I want to be edited is, -22,505, 60, 9,209. I think this would just be one chunk excavating so around $3.
