To get everyone hyped up for the holiday, we're opening a costume contest. We have two leagues available:

Diamond League

This league will require you to create your own skin. Any skin/costume you want to create is welcome - assuming it follows server rules. To enter, please have someone take your photo on the server and reply to this topic with the format below:

Name of Costume: If you have a specific name for your costume you're welcome to put that, you can also be more broad and just say what your costume is.

1st Place: 10k & Magazine Interview
2nd Place: 5k & Photo in Magazine
3rd Place: 3k & Photo in Magazine

Don't have premium Minecraft and/or /skin? You can still participate!

Emerald League

This requires less skill but more creativity. Using armor, blocks, heads, etc create your own costume! We suggest taking advantage of dying leather, using blocks as hats (/hat) or using player heads from tokenshop (/tokenshopshop). To enter, please have someone take your photo on the server and reply to this topic with the format below:

Judging Timeline

October 16th 23:59 GMT: Entries close at this time, Sentinel Magazine will narrow it down to 3-5 finalists for each group.
October 18th: A public ballot will be released for all players to vote on their favorite costumes
October 23 23:59 GMT: Voting will close, winners will be announced shortly after!

Scoring will be as follows:

Originality (Scored 1-10): How unique and creative the costume concept is.
Craft (Scored 1-10): For diamond league, this will be looking at the technical skill they used. For emerald league, how well did they use their materials?
Overall Look (Scored 1-10): How the costume looks overall/how coherent it is. If you're using props, those will be taken into consideration here. If you entered as a group, we will score you as a group here.

FAQs

Can I enter both leagues?
No.

Are groups allowed?
Yes, however you will each be scored individually. You should each reply to this topic with your own entry. It will be possible for some members of your group to win prizes and others not to.

Are props allowed?
Props are allowed, but should only add to your costume not obstruct it/take attention away from it.
For diamond league, props are considered any in-game items/scenery/blocks.
For emerald league, props are considered any handheld items/ anything not on your player.

If we're entering as a group, can one of enter the Diamond league and the other enter the Emerald league?

Will magazine staff be participating?
They will of course allowed to post their costumes on this post, but they will not be eligible to win. If they are in a group with eligible players, they will not be allowed to score any members of their group.

How will the public ballot work?
It will be a google form, similar to how the Sentinel Awards work.

Name of Costume: I made this skin a long time ago. The costume is a character of the Looking for Group saga, which is [or at least was] one of Richgotya's favourite comic when we used to play Minecraft together. The character is named Htcib Elttil and is the bad guy's sidekick, named Richard, which Rich uses as his Minecraft skin.
