The Dragon Egg

The Lore

While the Sentinels felt that the loss of their magic was overall a welcome change, they also learned that life is hard without that magic. In the time since their ship landed in Origin, much progress had been made, and many enemies had been vanquished. In an ancient ruin and through a dark portal the Sentinels discovered a mighty beast. Though the battle was difficult, in the end they remained victorious, claiming a strange egg that appeared when their foe was slain as a prize. This prize was not long for this world, however. One Sentinel, not yet used to living a magicless life, found themselves drowning in a sweltering pool of liquid earth while in possession of their prize. The Dragon Egg, it appears, was lost in the inferno.

Though they did not have it long, the community grew attached to this Egg, and its loss greatly saddened them. A Sentinel that many considered to be a mad genius approached them with a plan that would reunite them with their precious egg but he would need everyone's help to enact his plan if they wished to be successful. However, creating something as powerful and mysterious as the Dragon Egg would be risky... Who knows what could happen if they attempted it?

The Project - Phase One

The prospect of materializing anything, especially without magic, is a daunting task. In the place of magic, the mad genius suggests something new - he calls it "Science". Nobody understands what he means, but they do understand that he has a few demands. First, he requested that he needs some materials to set a foundation and do some "research".

He has requested the following items, to be placed in a space he created at Spawn in Origin:
  • 5 double chests of Eggs
  • 2 double chests of Lava Buckets
  • 1 double chest of Books

The Rules

  • 1. All players must donate any items for the Egg Project in the proper labeled chest at Origin's Spawn.
  • 2. Any one player can not donate more than 20% of the total for each item. For example, if 100 diamonds are required for a goal, Moog can not donate more than 20 diamonds.
  • 2a. Any extra items will be trashed by a staff member.
  • 3. All players must log what items they have donated to the book in the lectern placed at the donation area in Origin's Spawn.
  • 3a. No player is allowed to take the donation book out of Spawn. If you are caught with the book outside of spawn, you will be punished accordingly.

The Project - Phase Two

With entirely too much gusto, the mad genius exclaimed that his research had been completed and successful. It seems ?Science?, whatever that is, might just work out. ?That isn?t the end of the story though?, said the mad genius. Just because he knew how to produce a new Dragon Egg doesn?t mean the process will not be difficult. Some expensive materials were needed for the mad genius to concentrate the most trace amounts of magic he would use to create a new egg.

He has requested the following items, to be placed in the same space he created at Spawn in Origin:
  • 1 Single Chest of Coal Blocks
  • 10 Double Chests of Ender Pearls
  • 5 Hearts of the Sea

Each player may only contribute 5 stacks + 25 items of Coal Blocks, 2 double chests of Ender Pearls, and 1 Heart of the Sea each. Any extras delivered will be destroyed.
