Christmas in Sentinel

I know that Christmas is a little ways away, but I thought I'd bring this up anyway. (I don't know how Christmas usually is for the server because this will be my first Christmas with Sentinel.)

I was thinking that some of the players could get together in each town and make a Christmas tree. (It can have signs with all the members of the town on it, ornaments, etc.) Then on December 25 (or a different day close to the date), there will be a drawing. Whoever wins, out of each town, is given at least one gift by all the other town members.

It's just an idea, but I think it would be fun to see what kinds of gifts are given. My idea can be changed a little by anyone else who has ideas. I want to make Christmas in Sentinel fun! Thanks for reading guys.

I was planning on decorating my town for christmas. Doing the same thing for halloween :3. I think it would be a nice gesture to do as champ said ;3.

Come on guys. Christmas is about giving not about competing. I fell all the towns should give a special gift to everytown. Even if it means a little book from a mayor or assistant

Christmas is about Jesus <.< xD, yeah, its also 'bout giving but I think your having misconceptions on it, it's still a thought - an idea, it can be improved, though you have a point there .

Also, I think what should be done is mayors/assistants act as santa claus and put gifts inside each residents' house. [Either put in an item frame or in a chest then give the permission to open it to that resident]

Last year we asked people to build their trees and they were posted on facebook page. Maybe this year we could do the same

I'm glad you guys like the idea! Like I said, it can always be changed since we have quite a bit of time to think about it.

I think you have a neat idea Carrot! But who would give gifts to the assistants and mayors?

I like that idea Migas. I saw the trees from last year, and they looked great I think it would be a great idea to do it again.

If anyone wants to add anything, feel free to! I just had an idea, so maybe you guys can think of things to add to it or change about it, and we can have a for sure plan on Christmas.

Migas would give us gifts. Totes should. But maybe there could be a competition between town mayors and assistants on wich town would have the best christmas decoration. That way the top three towns' mayors/assistants get gifts :3

Well the whole christmas ornaments should be the ones judged. So the main criterias would be slight implementation of snow, a man made christmas tree not one done using spruce saplings and bonemeal, and finally tree ornament and maybe street and public spaces decorations such as spawners, organic farms, shop areas etc.. Of course let's not forget a huge snowman because that's totes why we're doing this in the first place.

mya..its going to be a bit hard to do that with lomari i think..since we're still in the process of moving.. uh..hm..

maybe a series of competitions? 

-christmas-themed towns..
-ice sculptures
-tree contest
- maybe some sort of skin contest as well?


As far as ice sculptures go..I think only ice, water, packed ice, and snow would be allowed in the sculpture by default..and then people get 3 extra blocks to use.. (types of blocks..not 3 literal blocks)  mya


and for the skin contest I'm thinking..take your current skin..and tweak it to make it more festive/wintry ..mya we can post before and after pics on the forums maybe? ..and you judge by who changed their skin to reflect the theme the best?
