Zarosi ban appeal
« on: October 29, 2014, 07:07:01 PM »
- In-game name: Zarosi

- Date and time of ban? (Include Timezone): 29th of October 2014 19:40 (gmt +1) Norwegian time

- Which Staff member banned you? Ellemenopea

- Why were you banned? I was banned for disrespect and spawn killing.

- Were you previously jailed or muted? No i've never been  punished with either of thoose two

- Why should you be unbanned?
I was actually banned for saying the word "ass" in sentence to one a friend of mine which is norwegian aswell, i said it in the context about me and my friend being accused of spawn killing. However the sentence I said was in norwegian and when the admin that banned us saw this pm they translated it using google translate.

The sentence was "Vist jeg f?r straff for ? ha drept han, da ass"   properly translated that means "If i get punishment for killing that guy, then" this was to express how I felt about being accused not to mean disrespect towards anyone.  In norwegian the word "ass" is slang and is used as an ending to normal, short sentences.  like "det var kult ass"

Additional Information:
This makes it really hard for us Norwegians to conversate with eachother in pm on our own languagde when we're banned without getting to properly explain ourselves.

We use the word "ass" like the word "then"

If you want proof of my statment about the word "ass" in norwegian  try searching "ja ass" on (google.no)

note that only NORWEGIAN pages will explain this word in our meaning.

Additionally I completely understand how my sentence could be misunderstood. I ment no disrespect towards anyone.

as for the spawn killing I will gladely take punishment if i did something like that, but that I believe that would be jail not ban.

Your appeal will be under review. I understand if there was a translation issue. As I said on Exodus' appeal the onely way to avoid things like this are to use English for all your conversations. No its not a requirement but you can see where there might be issues.

I know this might be irrelevant, but the word actually derives from the word "ass?/alts?" which is used as then, but and therefore all depending on the sentence of course.

the word is actually a shortance.

As for the english meaning of the word, we have another word for that in norwegian and it isnt much prettier.

Thank you nonetheless

and Im sorry Ellemenopea...
