Plot door, chest, furnaces cleaning command
« on: November 21, 2013, 08:15:18 PM »
As an ex-assistant, I find it annoying (the admins probably find it annoying, too :P ) calling an admin to remove the doors, chests and furnaces in a plot. There's already a command that clears torches and signs (I think it was something like / plot clear or clean). This command could be expanded to doors and trapdoors, and eventually to chests and furnaces if plot is without an owner. It's a win for everyone. :P

Chests and furnaces are something that we save and put into storage when the owner of them becomes inactive. However I do agree it becomes tedious to undo all the furnaces and doors. Especially if you're some sort of furnace fiend. Maybe some revision of the /plot clear is needed, maybe, but as it is, plots shouldn't be cleared unless the owner has been missing for 1month +. Then we swarm in and storage stuff.

Though, I do like the doors/trapdoor suggestion for /plot clear. The only reason I wouldn't add furnaces is because they're for all intents and purposes, chests themselves. It's like I wouldn't extend it to hoppers. It's just something we have to deal with :(

Elle Is correct. That also extends to hoppers, droppers and dispensors. The problem lies in If we give the power to do plot clear to a Mayor who uses it poorly, then we are going to have to punish in accordance with our rules.

Well as I said, it could be used only on a plot which has been removed from the owner who has been inactive for 1 month, either it won't work? If that's possible, of course.

Oh, it would work, and easy to implement, but it's also very easy and open to abuse. I wouldn't extend it to anything that contains items, as really, it's admin work to clear that kind of thing up.

LOL well what about, the chests are umm transferred to a temp location, where the owner of the chests can go and take them. :P

I See Your Point, But I Don't Think If I Was Gone Longer Then A Month I Would Come Back.

I Can Agree With Ellemenopea Response Above. Would Definitely Be Easy Its Just Who Is Going To Take The Extra Time To Move said Chest To This Temp Area?

I said, this should be a plugin but I guess it's getting too complicated. :D

it could be done but we are not gonna allow it as people would end up doing it maybe not knowing theres chest hidden and then the player losing there items ect or maybe they are just dicks and steal there items no just no we move all the chests of inactive people in case they come back maybe add trap doors thats fine but no signs chests furnaces dispencers ect any thing u can store an item in will be removed by the player or an admin

Admins already move things to the /vault for players to pick up at a later date. I already mentioned this is what we do. You must've missed it. The features that you are suggesting are not going to be implemented. It's open to too many abuses including idiocy. If you're having a problem with a player leaving town but leaving locked things around the place, tell an admin.

Sorry this is off topic a little...can I get a key to the "Vault"!  Not that Im going to take anything...but would take everything!

But nice to see that if I got inactive for a bit my stuff will be safe for my return.

The vault has no door. Only those who know how can access it.

We would put your stuff there from a town plot if you became too inactive

Well, if there is a lot of locked items by the same person, keep in mind that you can type /unlock once then type /cpersist (and /cnospam) then click all that needs to be unlocked. Vwala. Faster unlocking. 8D
