Temporary world!

The world will be back soon, Rich has been working hard on it and we have had select beta testers playing on it. Every day it gets closer to being ready.

Trust me, Its worth the wait

Oh, so Rich had already cracked his head there.
No wonder he blew up.... some parts of the temp world down to the bedrock to release stress. lololol

I guess 960 000 tnt is enough power to blow up bedrock xd

But do not worry the main server has got a few glitches that are being fixed right now. 
All main admins and Fedgar are working hard to get the server ready!!

About keeping the temporary world. Has that option been revoked even though the poll was more towards 'keep it'?
Well, because Rich kinda blew some of it up so there's actually no point to keep it anymore. Can do a reset though.

is not all blown up, Rich fix it again, most of it, and i voted to not keep it, just forget this temp world, we all started better, and made lot of what we couldnt make in main world, so i think is just a bad distraction, i like to play with you guys, chat, discuss, but i really dont care about the temp world, you make my game and my world, not a simple loaded map to play, can be any loaded map (new seed also), i like to play with YOU...

I think rich needs upgrade from TNT to C4.. do some real damage or better still FTB Nukes..

I agree with Ninja, a server divided cannot stand. It'll fracture the server community and lead to the downfall  of Sentinelcraft. 
The temp world gotta go.
I don't know how much work it'd be for the admins but is people REALLY had something the wanted to keep. Maybe a schematic copy and paste? (not a WE block grab but building schematics only) and then let the owners smooth the land following import.

Should be less change of chunk corruption using schematics.

Its not like we would do seperate nodes... Same server. Everyone can still talk. It would be no different than being in Skyblock or something.

It wouldn't necessarily "divide the server in half".  If the temporary world keeps the game rules it has now, it would be a different game mode.

Think about it: Skyblock didn't divide the server in half - it's just an alternate little game mode attached to the server.

If the temporary world were to stay, it would have no PvP rules, griefing rules, etc.  I was too lazy to read the other posts, but I do recall someone stating that it would be like a hardcore world.  If you die, you would have to wait a while to get back on.

If the temporary world will stay, maybe the rules can go something like this:

- No grief rules.
- No PvP rules.
- The world restarts every week (or something like that).
- If you are killed, you must wait till the world restarts to come back.

This is just an opinion though.  I honestly think it would be kinda cool to have a hardcore-style game mode attached to the server.

This is my first post on here, hopefully the beginning of many.  Just thought I'd throw out another option I haven't seen considered.

You could just pack up the world after you're done with it and offer it as a download.  Allow people who want to continue it do so in their single player.  I realize that those who want to keep it may also want to play in it with their friends, so it may not be the best option for them.  But it seems the pros outweigh the cons here:

Pros:
 - People can continue to enjoy the temporary world as long as they like
 - No additional load on the server
 - Server is not divided
 - Minimal additional work (it should only take a few minutes to an hour to get the world on a file hosting site, even though it'll be pretty big)

Cons:
 - Can't play with others

Since the world was going to be temporary anyway, being able to keep it in any way is extra.  Obviously if you're leaning towards keeping it, then forget this option.  But right now it seems the options are keep it or delete it.  If you're just going to delete it anyway, at least give it to the players to do something with it.

Interestingly, some other great ideas have been brought up in the discussion that relate not necessarily to the world, but to a new way of play.  With this world came a new ruleset, which some seem to have enjoyed.  The case for keeping the world as an anarchy "hardcore" style world is an interesting one, but consider whether its actually the world that you want to keep, or the no-rules gameplay.  It'd be possible to keep this less restricted gameplay without keeping the world, and I think it's important to consider that the world and the gameplay are separate things that are both new.  It's possible to keep one and not the other.  Perhaps what you want is a hardcore world, not necessarily this world.  What if an even better world could be made with this theme?

Oh, if that's the case, then I make my vote 'keep it' again, lol. Not gonna hurt anything(except for Rich's mind, it's okay~~). Will just turn out to be another world like skyblock in that case.

I do think gfrung's idea is nice, if the world is being deleted anyway.  However, there are other chests and buildings and whatnot that other players built.  You could raid the chests and use others' buildings to your advantage if you are just going to play in survival.

However, because of these limitations, whoever made the world can just give us the seed.  If the world is being deleted, that is.  With the seed, players may not be able to start from where they left off, but they can play on the same world.  Which means they can remake what happened in the temporary world, and also do it legit.
