Rubik's Cube
« on: November 24, 2015, 10:34:04 AM »
Hello guys. I created this topic for the discussion on the US' #1 best selling 'toy' (tho it really isnt) :)

Does anyone here cube? Or speedcube perhaps? What's your personal best? What cube do you use?

For those who don't know what a Rubik's cube is... Cmon y'all know what that is >_>

But, speedcubing is cubing in a whole new level, solving it as fast as you can- you solve the cube in sub-30 secs, sub-20, and sub-10. So, anyone?

I dont, but i have a group of friends who speedcube. They use the tradition 3x3, they also use, 4x4, 2x2, One of them uses (i think) a 9x9. As far as i know their bests are all around 30seconds

Speed cubing always seemed pointless. A rubiks cube can be solved by using a system, it doesnt actually take any amount of thought, once you realize that all movements can be condensed to a set of predictable movements, then all you have to do is practice for speed.

Doesnt seem super useful as far as skills go.

It actually requires the skill of analyzing and improves memory, as there is a solution to each situation (one algorithm one situation), so there is a heck ton to memorizing if one is to be good at speedcubing
