Hello there, I have a suggestion for a new class in the PvE though keep in mind this is more suited for 1.14.
The name of the I suggest is the "Albatross". The Albatross carries 5 crossbows all with Quick Charge by default, slow falling potions (4:00 minutes), fireworks and any form of potions for healing.
The thing why there are 5 crossbows is that you can charge all 5 of them so that later on you can use all 5 of them to rapid-fire arrows (the disadvantage being that it leaves you vulnerable while charging). I don't know about adding piercing or multi-shot to the crossbows but I'll leave that to the rest of the community.
As for the fireworks, you can use fireworks to launch yourself while wearing an elytra. For the slow falling, it actually slows your flying speed, which would allow players to actually shoot mobs while flying.
For armor, I'm suggesting something light on defense but there's an elytra. As for close range though, either wolves or replacing one of the crossbows with a sword.
