Nation Prince commands not working right or are they?

I was set at a Nation Prince and I should have Title and Surname commands but they don't seem to be working - if they are intended to work on this server.  I'm not sure if this server is different or the info on the web that I'm getting is bad.

Princes and Princesses are the most trusted residents in the nation. They aid the King in managing nation affairs and represent him in his absence.

    /n [add/remove] [town]
    /n ally [add/remove] [nation]
    /n enemy [add/remove] [nation]
    /n set title [resident] name
    /n set surname [resident] name
    /n toggle public
    /n toggle peaceful
    /n say [message]
    /n rank add [resident] [rank]
    /twar start [nation]
    /twar end
    /twar truce
    /twar callallies
    /twar joinwar [nation]

Perks: Access to all Assistant perks & commands and access to most nation commands*.

When I try to do "/n set title [resident] name" or "/n set surname [resident] name" ex: "/n set title TITAN Sir" or ex:  "/n set surname AidenTimSteve Excellent"  I get a "You don't have enough permissions for that command"... 

So am I misusing the command?  Do Nation Prince / Princess not have access to that command on this server or is there something else that I'm missing?

Any help would be appreciated!

Lol, three things:

1. You are referencing other servers, lol. One of them is even a legacy server... They have their own setup and we have our own setup. Our custom setup, for nations, consists of King, Herald, Assistant, and Chancellor. There's no such thing as "Prince" and I am not sure why did you even try it out in the first place because it never existed. The commands don't seem to be working because that rank doesn't exist xD...

2. You do not even hold any of the custom ranks said above... you're just a regular nation member


3. You are not misusing the command. You do not have any of our custom ranks so you don't have any access to the commands lol.

Please, next time, check for information on the correct place or ask for staff's help on which ranks exist in our Towny setup.

1.  Of course I'm referencing other servers.  I found no information about it on your forums.  Information like "We don't use the nation rank of Prince".  I looked.  So I asked in chat and even asked if this server uses a different setup - with no specific answer from an admin.   So of course I posted in forums for assistance.


2.  As for the Nation rank existing, if you had done a /t uptown, You'd see that I'm listed as Mayor:  Prince LUDGR81.  Nope, it's not listed under the nation.   A clear conflict which required asking someone.  Which I did.  Then I asked again.  Then I posted in the forums. 


3.  Thanks!  This was really all the information that I needed.   I appreciate the correct link for future reference.   Again, I did try asking about this in chat and received one unclear response from an Admin, asked again and none of the staff online at the time responded.  Maybe you should address that with your staff if you don't want to respond to forum posts.

The Prince "rank" you would have gotten is not a rank, but just a title that the King of the nation you are in adds onto your name. That is not a towny rank that we hold here. Migas was not implying that he doesn't want to answer questions, he was just answering yours. Also, staff are not always at their keyboards even if they are online. Sometimes we have to step away to go do stuff and it's time consuming to login and make sure everything is functional.

Unnecessarily dramatic. You treated it as if our setup was not working, when it isn't even part of it. Your "valid" question was funny for me because it didn't make sense to start and I had to check out what "Prince" you were talking about. The "prince" rank is not even by default on towny so obviously asking that out of context to our staff would leave them empty handed. Referencing other servers is like using Facebook or Youtube comments on your master's thesis, because you are referencing things made from others on the same topic that are not valid in our server.

Knowing now that it's a prefix and not a rank, which you didn't say on the original post, would've simplified the answer. And I found it funny because you were trying to access commands when you don't even have a rank xD.

Maybe check the amount of posts I have done here on the forums before saying I don't like or want to answer.

Yeah, this quote is not correct either. If you used the search option for the words "Towny ranks", you would get the information I gave to you, including the permissions. And of course we wouldn't add a disclaimer saying "We don't use the nation rank of Prince" , Knight, Servant, Duke, Whatever... because it's not even a default rank. It is implied that the only ranks we have are the ones listed there, lol.

When you asked on the server, I said "You need to be a Nation assistant to grant titles." If my response was unclear to you, that is okay. Please feel free to ask me or any other staff member in the future for clarification about what that means, or help with trying to accomplish what you need.
