Chicken Football: Preseason

Welcome to the preseason of Chicken Football! If you have been in SentinelCraft for a while, you probably remember this event, hosted by CalvinPigeon, from back then. Well, good news: we are bringing it back for you. For newer members, please do give it a try! 




What is Chicken Football?

Chicken Football is a 1v1 SM/Donator+ event that is played on a field in flat. You and your opponent will receive a knockback II sword which you will use to hit an immobile, immortal chicken to each other's goals. Every match will have a duration of 10 minutes. The winner is determined by the number of goals after each match.

FAQs

What kind of tournament is it?

For this preseason, we will be doing a knockout tournament. Once sign ups close, I will be making tournament brackets and it will be posted here on forums.


Are there specific rules to the game?

Yes. I will finalize and post them before sign ups close.


Will there be a specific schedule for the games? I might not make it.

Each round will have 5 days to be completed. You and your opponent should find a time for you to play. If after 5 days your match has not been played, a winner will be picked at random. If you cannot make it, you have the option to forfeit the tournament and give your opponent the right to advance.


Do I have to use a sword? How about a stick?

Yes you have to use a sword. Why? Because swords cannot destroy blocks on flat (fun fact!).


Why is it SM/Donator+ only?

Because the command to spawn the chicken is only available in flat. We do not want to fill survival with immortal chickens.


How do I spawn a football chicken? And how do I get rid of it if it is immortal?

Do /cball in flat to spawn a chicken and /ninja to get rid of it.


Where will the games be played?

We currently have two stadiums to play in: Intrepidum Stadium and Shadow Arena. To visit them:

Intrepidum Stadium currently does not have a warp. You can fly to -745 8 -4188 in flat to visit.
Shadow Arena has /warp SR_Arena. There is a warp sign at Tequila Tranquila. Shadow residents will play their home games here.

Each stadium has its own distinct features that will affect your matches... we suggest you pay each of them a visit before your first game.


Can I make my own stadium/field to host my people?

Absolutely! We would love to see new stadiums and it would be fun to have different games played in different environments! This will only be allowed for the next tournament, though.


What do the winners get?

The top 3/4 will get seeded in season 1 which WILL have prizes. The preseason is to warm up and learn a little more about the game.


What does getting seeded mean?

That means that you will be on separate brackets, so that the champion and runner up do not meet in the quarter finals, for example.
