When the server updated to 1.7, all the unloaded chunks were reloaded so there will be many spots like that.

Not to big a deal to me

I rather enjoy finding things like that, makes the terrain more realistic when your walking along and come across a sheer cliff.. Just like in real life.

True everyone, it just surprised me it was like a snow biome got picked up and chucked in the middle of a swamp/forest/desert, I even found a zombie spawner sticking out of it!
